Chapter six

-Jack's POV-

I enter the library and like I expected, my dad is there reading a book. I walk towards him. "Dad?" He looks up from his book. "Yes, Jack?" "Is killing someone ever good?" He puts the book down and gestures me to sit next to him on the sofa. I sit down and look at him. "Why do you ask me that question? Is it because of Ryan's father?" "No, it's-" He sighs. "The woman." "Yes... So, do you-" "Killing is never good. When you kill someone, you ruin the life of others who are innocent." "Is that why does she do it?" "I don't know; I didn't ask her." "Did you talk to her?" "Of course not! She could kill me in a second." I look down. "She is pretty scary." "Why do I get the feeling that you're not telling me everything?" I look back at him. He looks me right in the eyes. "You talked to her, didn't you?" "Yes, you were with me when I did." "Don't lie to me." He says serious. "Oh, look at the time! I need to start my training!" I say hastily and walk out of the library as fast as I can. "Jack! Come back!" I hear dad yell, but I keep walking forward.

When I finally left the library, I bump into someone. "Sorry." I say still hastily. "Where are you going so hastily?" Uncle William asks me. I look at him. "The garden, I need to start my training." "Aren't you late for that? Laure went to her training an hour ago." Aunt Luna says. "Yes, but I needed to ask my father something. Well, I better get going. Bye!" I say and walk away.

When I walk towards the training ground, I see that Laure is still there. "Sorry that I'm late." "You're an hour late, Jack." Mom answers. Yes, she's my teacher in self-defence. "Sorry, but I needed to talk to dad." "And you had to talk to him when you were supposed to train?" "Sorry mom." She looks at Laure. "You were amazing, you're a good student." She then looks back at me. "I don't want you to miss another training or I'll let Laure fight you." I look anxious at her. "I'm sorry, please don't do that!" Mom doesn't answer and just walks back inside with a sly smile.

"I hope for you that you don't miss a training, I don't want to hurt you." Laure says to me smiling. "Very funny." "Why did you have to talk to your father so urgently?" "I needed to ask him something." "And what was that?"

"Jack!" We both look at Ryan who's running towards us. "You were right! I've talked to her!" "You've talked to her?" "Yes! She was in the woods, just like you said!" "Who was?" Laure asks. We look at her. "Oh, Laure, I almost forgot that you're still here..." I say to which she response with punching my arm. "Ouch! Stop doing that!" "Stop giving me a reason to do it!" "Guys! Stop!" Ryan says to us. We look back at him and he looks at me. "I've had a long talk with her. She told me a lot about herself." "She did?" "Who are you talking about?" Laure asks us. "That doesn't matter." I answer. "Jack, Ryan, tell me or you'll regret it." She says angry.

"We're talking about Ella." Ryan answers. I look confused at him. "Ella?" "She told me that her siblings call her that. I can her that too." "She has siblings?" "Yes, didn't she tell you that?" "Who is Ella? Is she a woman you have a crush on?" She asks Ryan. "What? No, I just met her." He answers. I look at Laure. "Ella is Mirella and she is the woman who killed those men" "What!? You both have been alone with her in the woods!? Are you insane!?" I put my hand on her mouth. "Quiet! Our parents don't need to know!" She takes my hand of her mouth and looks at me. "They need to know!" She says walking to the door. "Lauretta." Ryan calls. She stops and looks at him. "Don't tell them yet. Go with us to her and talk to her. Afterwards you can decide if you still want to tell them or not, we won't stop you then." She sighs. "Fine, I'll meet her. But not now. I'll come with you after the press conference tomorrow." I smile at her. "Thanks Laure." "I just hope that I won't regret it." "You won't."

The press conference was boring. It was the environment minister who was speaking to the press. He was in the middle of his speech when he suddenly puts both his hands around his neck and starts to choke. Uncle William runs to him and gives him back blows. "You can stop doing that." We all look and see Mirella walking towards us with golden hair and eyes. She keeps her right arm focused to the minister. "Are you doing this?" Dad asks her while walking to uncle William and the minister. She stops walking when she's in front of them. "I am; he deserves to die."

"He does? Why?" We hear a man say. We look and see two men and a woman walking towards us. Mirella seems surprised to see them because she stops choking the minister. They stop walking when they're beside her. One of the men walks closer to dad, uncle and the minister. "So, what did he do?" "He hurts elephants." Mirella answers. The woman beside her looks at her. "What are elephants?" "Doesn't matter." The man who isn't beside them says and walks even closer to dad, uncle and the minister.

"Guards!" Uncle yells. Guards run to the man but he surprises everyone by turning his eyes and hair silver. The guards stop running and look afraid at him. The man smiles at them. "Yes, be afraid." He stops walking when he's in front of the minister. "You can't kill him!" Uncle says to the man. "Killing isn't the right thing to do!" Dad says. "Maybe, but when he's dead, he won't hunt innocent animals anymore!" Mirella answers. The man in front of the minister looks at Mirella. "He hunts animals? Ella, hunting is part of life." "I know that! He's hunting animals to show off, not to eat them." The man looks back at the minister. "Oh, well that's something I can't approve."

He looks at dad and uncle. "Move away." They both don't move. The man looks angry at them. Guards walk to dad and uncle and take them away from there. The minister looks frightened at the man which makes the man smile. "So afraid, I love it." The man puts his hands around the minister's neck. "I can feel that you have chocked." He looks at Mirella. "That's disappointing." "Just get on with it. I don't like waiting." The woman beside Mirella says to him. He looks angry at her and then breaks the ministers neck. "Happy now?" "Very, let's go." She answers and then teleports away followed by Mirella. The man who broke the ministers neck walks to the other man who is still standing where Mirella was. "Don't look at me like that. I know what you're thinking." The other man just looks at him and doesn't reply. The man who broke the ministers neck teleports away.

The other man walks to the minister. Paramedics run to the minister but stop when they see him. He looks at them. "Don't bother, he's dead." He says calmly and sets a few steps back. The paramedics go to the minister and feel his pulse. "He is dead." One of them says. "I told you." The man says while walking closer to the minister again. The paramedics go away when they see him coming closer. "My brother knows how to kill." "You are brothers?" Dad asks him. "Yes we are." His eyes and hair change silver. "I'm sorry for your loss." He says before disappearing.
