Kayla Pike, born into a fairly rich family, her father Frederick a profound doctor in New York City in a bloodline of MD's after MD's. Her mother however was short lived, months after Kayla turned 6, her mother passes away. Frederick tried taking care of her but he was too obsessed with his job to do anything with Kayla. Leaving Kayla in the care of babysitters, nannys and house maids. Kayla did well in school, excelling in all her classes up through highschool. Having scholarships to go to school, her father set her up for medical school, however she didn't want to become a doctor. She wanted nothing to do with the medical field, but she didn't have any idea what she would do. Her father sent her off to college and she started off. After her freshman year, she started getting into alcohol. Drinking day in and day out. Total alcoholic. Which gets her thrown out of college. The news of that displeased her father and he kicked her out of his household, leaving her on the streets with whatever money she has. Her money she continues to spent on alcohol. Living on the streets somehow didn't bother her. She was used to the loneliness. One rainy day on the street, a man comes to her with an umbrella, offering a spare one to her. Kayla accepts the offering and asks him why. He says, "My name is Wilson... Fisk. I... know who you are Kayla. I know thank you... drink a lot at a Russian bar. The establishment is owned... by some Russians I deal with. I want to... hire you for your good terms with the Russians." He then explains how he can house her for awhile until she has enough money to afford her own place. Kayla accepts and joins him. Few days after she meets James Wesley, who trains her in what her job will be. Dealing with the Russians. Which she can tell that James doesn't enjoy dealing with them so she will. James gets her into a program for her to learn Russian and she passes it just fine. Then she meets Vladimir and Anatoly, then Leland, then Nobu, then Madame Gao. Her drinking habits lower but she still drinks almost every night. Kayla later meets Wilson's Nephew, Christian and his dealing partner Agni. As business grows, she becomes wealthy, surprisingly she passed how much her father is worth. The business starts getting risky, the Russians are being attacked by a masked man. She feels that something worse is going on with the business. She's not being told the whole story. So Kayla snoops around, gathering files of information that she is unaware of. Reading everything over, she see's the real dangers of this business. Making copies of a few files, she hides them. As the Masked Man continues to attack the Russians and the death of Anatoly stirred up problems. Kayla knows that it wasn't the Masked Man who killed Anatoly. Kayla then finds herself snooping around the Russians more often to try and find the Masked Man. One night she finally meets him. She explains who she is and that she wants to stop the Fisk Industry from doing more damage to Hells Kitchen and the rest of the city. So she gives him the few files she made copies of and she tells him that she can get him more later on. The Masked Man thanks her and leaves.
