I was recently asked to write
an essay
on how music affects my life
I didn't really know
what to say
How would you respond to that question?
I certainly don't know
I gave some contrived answer
about how it affects others
Then I stopped
put down my pen
I sat & sat, waiting for something
then, I started being honest
I wrote
"I have no idea how music affects me."
but one thing I do know
is that
music, speeds up time
when numb & just lying there
