(A/N I thought the last chapter was getting abit long so this will just be after the sorting ceremony hope you like it please review)
The sorting ceremony had been over for some time now i sat beside Drew who was currently stuffing his face with chicken on the other side one of the ginger twins i had spotted earlier sat, Fred, he said his name was. The feast was mouth watering everything a person could desire to eat was in front of me but i didn't touch anything. My thoughts echoed what the sorting hat had told me.
"your mother was in the house of lions wheread our father perferred the house of snakes."
It couldn't be right but then the hat couldn;t be mistaking. I knew one thing however if my 'parents' weren't infact mine I would not care but I hated my real parents for sending me there if the hat was telling the truth.
"Are you not going to eat anything?" Drew asked looking concerned.
"I'm not hungry." I muttered poking at the poatatoes with my fork.
"Come on, I mean it's probably loads better than what Snape fed you."
"Snape!" Fred yelled his mouth open in shock. " You mean you stayed with Snape?" I nodded my head, keeping my eyes on the poataoes in front of me. "Bet that was a great time, what'd you do to end up there, your parents affair of you." If you knew?
"My parents are dead." I said causing the smile to drop from his features he muttered an apology and went back to his meal. Drew gave me a strange look, mixed with disbelief and sadness. The rest of the meal was silent between Drew and I, when we were shown to our coomon room and dorms we stayed up slightly later then the others, the boys following Harry about like lost puppies.
"Drew?"
"Yes Prim?" he asked sitting down next to me on the sofa in front of the large fire that burned dimly.
"The sorting hat said something to me, something I don't quite understand" I said furrowing my eyeborws, not waiting for him to answer I continued "It said my parents were magic but they aren't they're muggles."
"Aren't? I thought they were dead?" he asked looking puzzled.
"They are to me." I said coldly a look of discomfort crossed Drew's face and for some reason I wanted to share more with him we are friends right? that's what friends do tell each other things. "I ran away" I blurted out, I noticed Drew still had his full attention on me. "It was my birthday I just left."
"Prim?" Drew asked seeming unsure. "I don't understand why you lied but all I know is the sorting hat never lies."
"They never wanted me none of them did." I muttered a tear falling down my cheek. If the sorting hat wasn't lying that meant that my real parents didn't want me either.
"Hey" Drew cooed pulling me in to a hug. "You don't need them as much as you think you do." he pulled back and looked me straight in the eye before continuing. "I have no idea what you're feeling or what to say but Hogwarts is your home now, a fresh start, you'll never see your parents again." he pulled me back into another hug.
"Thank you" I whipsered into his ear before he pulled away and stood up.
"What are friends for?" he said a slight smile playing on his lips.
"Friends" I smiled as this time unlike the last I knewn we could be friends. This was it Hogwarts was my home, my first real home, a place where I am wanted. It didn'tmatter really about who my parents were at this moment in time for right now I inally understood what it was like to have someone to go to, even if I didnt know Drew long I knew I could trust him.
That night I found mysel falling a sleep without fear of nightmares but with a smile on my face as I sank into the pillows of my bed.
