I found Hermione in the girl's toilet. Her sobs echoed throughout the empty room. I followed the sound of her muffled sobs to the cubicle she must be in. Knocking the door lightly I waited patiently for a reply.

"Hermione, please come out, Ron didn't mean it he's just..." I paused trying to think of a good word to describe him," he's just an idiot."

"N-n-no he's n-not, he's r-right." She choked out between sobs, muffled slightly by the cubical door. "I d-don't h-have any fr-friends."

"That's not true I'm your friend." I protested trying to get her to listen. "Please just come out."

"G-go a-away." I wanted to wait a bit longer, see if she came out, but she didn't. Taking a deep sigh I walked out finding Drew standing outside. It was funny since we git to Hogwarts Drew was always there. He'd wait for me in the morning before going to the great hall, he'd study with me in the library, he'd even just sit in silence with me in the common room.

"Is she ok?" He asked sounding concerned.

"She wouldn't let me in."I replied sadly, as we both started making our way to our next class. "Drew?" I said as we walked along an empty corridor.

"Yeah Prim."

"Why haven't you replied to your fathers owls?" I asked. It had being bugging my mind all morning but regretted asking. It wasn't my business but his family were so lovely. Why doesn't he want to talk about it? After a few minutes of silence I decided to speak again. "I'm sorry, I should've have asked-"

"No it's fine, it's just...it's a long story." He finally said but before I could ask him to explain a voice came from behind us.

"Oooo look if it isn't Wimpy," a voice mocked from behind us, we turned and there stood Malfoy. Crabbe and Goyle stood either side of him. "And what's this?" He questioned turning his attention to me. "And here I thought you'd have known not to associate with the dirt."

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"Malfoy leave her alone."

"Aw look at that Crabbe, Goyle." He said to his two aquitantences . "Wimpy here has found himself a girlfriend, your father will be pleased."

"Don't mention my father!" Drew snapped. It was strange really, Drew could change from the sweetest and kindest person you'd ever met, that believed in strange stories and things that didn't exist as far as I was told. But then he could change into this extremely protective brother, the type of person that just being with them you felt untouchable from anything.

"Come Crabbe, Goyle I have better things to do with my time than waste it on the likes of you." He turned staring to strut away but he paused looking back straight at me. "I thought you'd be smarter than to lower yourself to the scum of the earth," he started his voice low and harsh, "guess I was wrong you're clearly choose to lie down with the mutts and catching their flees."

I stood there awestruck, not sure if I should retort but before my thoughts collected themselves he was gone. I turned my head and found Drew glaring at the empty space where Malfoy once stood.

"Drew your father-"

"I'll tell you later." He said cutting my words off. I didn't reply instead we walked, but my thoughts were still spinning with everything. From the sorting hat to Hermione crying in the bathroom.

Hermione never turned up for the next class, it wasn't hard to notice she wasn't there, even if no one paid attention to the register being taken her bushy hair and raised hand was missed and I had this feeling I should've stayed with her.

But as I entered the Great Hall all thoughts of Hermione found themselves pushed to the back of my mind. I gasped when I saw a thousand live bats fluttered from the walls and ceiling whilst a thousand more swooped over the tables causing the candles. Carved pumpkins were placed upon the tables candles flickering inside.
