----Snape----

I had heard her leave no long after I came into my office and decided I had to give the headmaster a visit.

"Ah Severus to what do I owe such pleasant company this fine evening." Dumbledore asked as I enter his office he was standing next to Fawkes his pet phenix, gently stroking it's back. I started to pace in front of his desk Dumbledore moved and sat down behind it his gazed fixed on me peering over his half-mooned glasses. "I guess you have met Harry Potter?" Dumbledore asked, plucking the paper- Transfiguration Today- up from his desk to read.

"Met him!" I snapped my voice still low, continuing my pacing "Potter as I expected is exactly like his father mediocre, arrogant, a determined rule-breaker, delighted to find himself famous, attention-seeking and impertinent - "

"You see what you expect to see, Severus,"Dumbledore replied absentmindedly, his eyes still fixed on the copy of Transfiguration Today. "Other teachers report that the boy is modest, likable, and reasonably talented. Personally, I find him an engaging child."

I didn't reply. I knew myself I was probably judging him by his father rather than who he was but I couldn't get it out my mind. They looked so much the same except his eyes I noticed they were truly Lily's. Dumbledore turned a page, and said, without looking up, "Keep an eye on Quirrell, won't you?"

"Why?" I asked curiously.

"I just have a strange feeling that something happened to him over the summer." He replied still reading. I felt it my queue to leave but there was still more I wished to discuss.

"Headmaster it has come to my attention that Miss Stewart is somewhat aware her adoptive parents are not hers."

"Really?" He replied sounding not surprised "you know Severus, there is a saying that if someone is courageous enough to seek an answer to a question then one should be brave enough to answer truthfully."

"And how do you suggest I do such a thing, invite her for pumpkin juice and tell her I'm her father, I am very doubtful she'd believe me and be happy about it."I replied bitterly I was well aware that I wouldn't be a child's desired parent, no matter how awful her adoptive parents were to her.

"Ah, but Severus that is not for you to decide, the truth told is better than truth unsaid, if I may say so myself." Dumbledore said finally setting his paper down and looking at me with his piercing blue eyes. "Either way Severus the truth always finds a way of revealing itself in the most curious ways." He paused "You may not tell Miss Stewart today but tomorrow she might somehow find the truth and come to the inaccurate conclusion that you did not want her or her mother."

"That is a lie." I replied in a cold tone. I had never known of her existence not until it was too late and she had been placed in the care of muggles. I spent many years trying to locate her and never coming close and now here she was.

"I never said it was the truth but in order for matters to not get worse and create something unsalvageable between you's I'd say something sooner rather than later." That was our final words. I left Dumbledore's office and walked slowly down to the dungeons thinking over the conversation I just had. My thoughts were broken when I heard something from behind me.

"Who's there?" I drawled pulling out my wand from my robes, "lumos," the tip of my wand illuminated revealing Quirrel . "Ah, Professor Quirrel what brings you here at such a ulate hours."

"I-I w-was ju-just going f-for a l-late n-n-night stroll." He stuttered in reply trying to make his way past me.

"I'm watching you Quirrel" I said in a cold tone before turning and leaving for a terrible night sleep that I knew was awaiting me.
