A/N I'm so happy with the amount of votes this fic has received already. So yeah this chapter is dedicated to all you wonderful people. On a side note I've been going back through the previous chapters sorting my grammar and spelling errors but nothing has changed plot wise.I hope you enjoy!!
It was Halloween. I had woke that morning from the most horrible dream. I dreamt I was home again, my father was yelling in my face telling me that I was a freak, worthless of the air that I breathed. Spit hit my face as he told me he wished that he could get rid of me. My mother was laid passed out on the couch, the current wine bottle she was drinking clutched to her chest, as if she were hugging a soft toy.
"Are you listening to me you worthless piece of shit!" My father snapped his nostrils flared, spit escaping from his mouth. "Have you still not learnt your lesson?" He asked stepping forward, that familiar look of insanity in his eyes.
"Please...Stop!" I cried before I woke to find myself back in Hogwarts. It had been a constant fear for me. I had kept thinking that this was just some sort of dream, that any minute I would wake up and find myself sprawled out on top of my old metal bed. A wave of relief washed over me as I sat up and found Toby silently purring at my feet.
A few days had passed since my talk with Malfoy, I still hadn't had the chance to question Snape about what he had told me. However, I wasn't going to let that bother me today, it was the first ever Halloween I had ever celebrated, my 'parents' weren't a big fan on celebrating holidays, or birthdays for that matter. Thinking of birthdays my heart sank. I had hoped this year being at Hogwarts someone would have remembered it but no one did, I didn't blame them though it wasn't important to remember my birthday. There had been too much of a rush with getting settled into Hogwarts, I, myself had almost forgotten about it until I had wrote the date in class.
I got up and ready for school. Toby was lying on my bed purring contently as I rushed the last few answers to my transfiguration homework. "Toby what if they didn't want me? What if they don't want me to know who they are?" I asked my cat as he groomed himself licking his paw. "Maybe I'm overthinking this." In reply I received a quite meow as Toby continued to groom himself.
"That's meant for today." I heard Hermione state from behind me, her hands on her hips with a frown on her face. "Professor McGonagall will be mad if you don't hand it in."
"Hermione it's fine I'm almost done." I replied smiling slightly. Hermione was a really nice girl I thought, however others seen her as a know-it-all, stuck up and bossy. I didn't, I saw the similarities between us both; we both just wanted to fit into a world where we felt so lost and out of place. "How are you?" I asked trying to make conversation as I put my piece of parchment in my bag.
"Me....I'm fine thank you, yourself ?"
"Same..." I replied hesitating before I continued. "Look Hermione don't let them get to you."
"What?" She asked acting dumb.
"You know what I mean....one day when we've left Hogwarts they'll regret not working as hard as you do."
"You think so?"
"I know so, besides I study just as much." I laughed placing Toby on my bed. "Better get going Drew will be waiting on me...you want to join." I asked as we started to walk out the girls dormitory.
"No that's ok." She replied shaking her head."I'm going to the library before breakfast anyway."
"Ok well I'll talk to you later." I smiled then parted from her at the bottom stairs to get Drew who, like I said, sat on the couch waiting on me. "Morning." I greeted from behind him, he stood stretching his arms.
