I get up from the couch. I look a mess, but at this point, I don't care. She better be paying because I'm broke. That came out rude, luckily I did not say it aloud. I follow Macy to the door, as she opens it with grace. She's so nice...So prude. She walks over to a small yet comfortable car.
"You have a car?" I say in shock.
"Duh!" She laughs.
"How old are you?" I question. I figure she's in 10th? I open the small red car door and hop in.
"16, I'm a sophomore. Aren't you?" She smiles.
"No. I'm a freshman, sadly..." I mumble. She starts the car. I stare at her. She's focused yet confused.
"Oh. Okay," She smiles. "What kind of ice cream do you prefer?"
"I don't care." I laugh. I hope it didn't come out rude.
She laughs with me. "Dairy Queen it is!" The car makes a sharp turn. She's excited, so am I.
"I didn't know I lived so close to Dairy Queen." I say, getting out of her car. It was like...a three minute drive? I need to pay more attention to my surroundings.
"Well, are you coming, or are you gonna stand there like a doofus?" She laughs.
"Oh, sorry." I say, embarrassed. I hadn't realized I was standing in the parking lot. Macy was already inside, chatting with some girls from school. I run inside to catch up. I am slightly afraid she will ditch me.
"Oh! Laura, this is Chelsea! Chelsea, this is Laura!" Leeyana cheers. Laura glares at Macy and pulls her into the bathroom. My hand reaches my face and I shake my head. Is this really happening knew? Macy that they were all meeting up here. She wanted me to meet her 'friends', but I've already met them. She just didn't know it. It's not her fault...It's mine, really.
I sit at a table, preparing my speech to tell Macy when she comes out. I imagine her pale face turning bright red, looking at me with such hurtful eyes. I feel a tap on my shoulder, and look back. It's Zayn. Can't this boy leave me the hell alone?
"What?!" I snap at him.
"You're in our seat. Get up, we were here first." He snaps back. Three girls stand behind him with their cheer outfits on. What's wrong with him? He never acted like this. I get up from the table and smirk.
"Here you go, you and your group of sluts can sit down now." I say. I probably will regret it later, but I must say I'm proud.
"Carmen! We should go...like now." Macy says, she looks mad. Great. I follow her out to the car and hear laughter fill the restaurant. I flip them off as I run, they can see it through the window. Macy gets in the car and rests. I get in as well and she faces me.
"Listen," She breaks the silence."I know Laura is lying. She has done this many times before. Her friends know it's a lie, too. It's all because they wanted Zayn. It has nothing to do with you. She doesn't care about your feelings Carmen. She just wanted to get into Zayns pants and dump him back off to you." She sighs.
"Why are you friends with her? I mean because you know what she does. So why stay with her?"
"Because. It's like a black mail. If I leave her little "group", She'll do something horrible. I know what she's capable of. And, a piece of advice..." She looks at me with kind eyes. "Try to get Zayn back. For his own good. You might hate him now, but Laura will take control of him."
"What do you mean by 'take control'?"
"Making it so there is no way you will ever regain your guys' friendship. Listen, the reason I became your friend was because of this. Zayn never asked me out, and I knew that Laura would be here today. I'm sorry if you feel betrayed, I am just helping you out. I care about you, okay?" Leeyana smiles. I reach over and hug her. She's amazing, she's smart, she knows what she's doing. I like her a lot. She can tell that I approve of what she has said. She starts the car and takes me home.
