"Laura told me, she told me that he had raped you in the bathroom. That's a serious case, but why didn't she or Jessie tell the police?" Evan says. He looks at me but I refuse to look directly at him.
"Because they're lying. I kissed Zayn, on my own will. He didn't force me to do anything."
""But why would Laura lie to me?" Levi says, is he crying? I laugh. How pathetic.
"How long have you guys dated?" I say, getting off topic about the so called 'rape'. It disgusts me.
"She asked me out yesterday...I don't really know her but she's hot, you gotta give her credit for that..."
"Ha! Laura Carpenter, asked you out. You're apart of her games. I think you need to leave now. Just warning you about what will happen. Just remember, what ever she does, I'm here." I smile, though I could care less about him. I just wanted to warn him and get to the library.
"Should I break up with her?" He asks. Damn, can't he say okay and let it go?
"Whatever you want. I'm not your mother. I need to go." I say and head towards the library before I receive an answer. All eyes are on me as I open the door. The librarian gives me an evil eye but continues her work. Zayn and Macy are in the far corner laughing and talking quietly. Macy is quite flirtatious, and I can tell Zayn is attracted to her. How great is that.
i walk to the corner and see Zayn's face light up.
"Hey," I whisper.
"What did he say?" Zayn says without a hello.
"He said...um... He said, well...that you...uh raped me? But I handled I—"
"What?!" Zayn yells. Everyone looks to him and Laura lets out a small laugh.
"Yeah well I told Levi the truth. He believes me. I think he's going to break up with her." i state firmly.
"I don't give a damn about her love life. I care about the fact that I could be arrested for rape!" He whispers, loudly. I am honestly not worried. I know it will be alright.
"Carmen, you don't understand. Even if you tell everyone I didn't they will think I'm making you say it." His face is pure red now. School is over soon and I can't wait to tell Laura off. How dare she, ruin my best friend—my everything's life just because she didn't get her way. This won't do. I stare at Levi who is pulling Laura out to the hall. The librarian doesn't even notice.
"Zayn? What's wrong?" Macy says, rubbing his back. I want to be the one doing that. Zayn shakes his head and stands up. Macy look disappointed, like she did something wrong.
"I'm going to tell the councilor about this." Zayn spats in Laura's face as he speaks. Not on purpose, though.
"Wow, pretty boy is a rat now." She scoffs. I didn't even notice she was back. Levi is sitting separately at a far table. Zayn storms out of the library, telling the librarian he's reporting something to the councilor and he will be back.
"Macy, I'm going to sit with Levi. You can come." I smile and walk towards him, but the bell rings before I get the chance to talk to him.
"Damn." I say under my breathe. He storms out of the room, angry. I stand and stare like an idiot with my books in my hand. I realized I'm the last person in the library except for the nerds who come in here for their pokèmon club. I rush out and wait outside the main office for Zayn to come out. I watch as Levi exits the building with anger. Why am I staring at him?
The door opens and I jump, not expecting it to happen at that moment. Zayn looks satisfied, which means he has done something evil—or good.
"What happened in there?" I ask as we walk slowly to the doors.
"I told the councilor about Laura's lies. I told her how Laura told everyone I raped you." He sighs.
"Did she believe you?" I say as I open the wide heavy doors.
"Yes," he smiles, wide. "She's getting expelled."
