Three weeks later
-Things with Axl were good. It felt like we finally had our shit together, and had actually built trust with each other.
Which was a good thing and a bad thing. What if he found out about me and Lucas? I would just about die. I couldn't even begin to imagine the consequences. I had no idea what would happen, but no outcome could be good in this situation.
As for Steven... God knows what was going on in his mind. He seemed okay. I mean, it's gotta be hard to see your band mate go out with someone you liked and wanted to date. Because I'm pretty sure he really liked me, since he seemed upset at first about Axl and I. Now, he's a little bit stand-off-ish, but getting better by the day. To be honest, I almost regret not continuing to build the relationship that him and I had begun to form. I was curious to see where it led to.
I sat on the couch in the living room, while Duff, Slash, Izzy, and Steven were in the basement playing pool and probably getting drunk and high simultaneously. Axl was in the kitchen getting a snack for us to share while we watched Back To The Future. Axl hated it, but I found it interesting. The prospect of time-travel blew my mind, just the fact that it could be possible was so amazing.
Axl came back and plopped onto the couch beside me, propping his legs onto the coffee table, resting his arm behind my head, and placing the big bowl of popcorn between us. I leaned into his touch, basking in the feeling of just him--the way his body felt against mine.
"Mmm," I smiled, moving my hand towards the bowl, "thanks, babe."
"Ah, ah, ah!" he warned me, covering the popcorn with his hands, a playful smirk on his lips. "Not without a kiss."
I laughed and leaned in, teasing him as I stopped with my mouth hovering above the skin on his neck. I applied light pressure, loving how his muscles tensed with just the smallest of caresses from me. I began to suck on his neck a bit, but he moved, quick and sly, so that our mouths met. We worked together as one, and despite only being together for about a month, I already had the map of his mouth memorized. His tongue slid against my lips, a light, suggestive nudge to go further, but I wanted to stay here, wanted to enjoy the slow-moving ride--a soft, steady--
"Ugh! Get a room!" someone yelled from atop the stairs to the basement. I whipped my head around to see Slash standing in the doorway, an empty bowl in hand.
"Well, we did have one before you appeared," Axl responded, a happy twinkle in his eye. I thought again of what I was about to do tonight, and my laugh died in my throat before being displayed. I smiled at him, but I don't think it quite reached my eyes anyway.
"Right," Slash paused, casting glances between Axl and I. "Anyway, we need more food."
"You always need more food," I grumbled, rolling my eyes.
"What was that?" Slash called from the kitchen.
"Nothing, dear!" I replied sarcastically. Axl laughed.
All these light-hearted jokes really aren't going to be reflective of the mood later tonight. I was going to do something, for the second time, that I could never take back. It kills me to think about Axl, or anyone else in the band, being hurt by my actions. However, I felt like this was the only thing to do. What else could I possibly do? Lucas could potentially blackmail me, and I don't think he's opposed to the idea, so I was better safe than sorry, right?
Axl noticed my changed demeanour and asked, a frown on his sweet lips, "Are you okay, Cass?"
It was time to start my act.
