''Are you sure you're okay James? You say you have been feeling dizzy for weeks now. You also look really pale. You should really go to the doctor.'' I said, earning a shake on the head from James.
''No. It's okay. I'll see you two when I get home from work.'' James said, giving me a short kiss, and after that my 8 month pregnant stomach.
''Are you sure...?'' I asked, grabbing his hand.
''I'm sure baby. Now get some sleep.'' He said, giving me one last kiss, before he left the apartment.
I sighed deeply, before going, or rather waddling back to the living room, and sitting down on the couch.
I sighed deeply, turning on the TV just watching whatever there was.
About two hours my phone rang.
I saw that it was an unknown number, but answered anyway.
''Luke Bleigh.'' I said, standing up from the couch.
''Mr. Bleigh. Your husband, James fainted. He is in the hospital, and currently having tests done. But I'm only James' secretary, so I'm not allowed to go in.'' A panicked woman voice said.
''What...'' I said, feeling the blood drain from my face.
-
I walked into the hospital as quickly as I could with a big womb, and walked to the front desk.
''I'm here for James Bleigh.'' I said, seeing the woman look at me skeptically.
''I'm his husband, Luke Bleigh, so yes I'm allowed to go in.'' I said, showing her the ring on my finger, before letting my hand go back to my stomach.
''Oh. I see.'' She said, before telling me the room number, and floor.
I walked over to the elevator, and pressed the button, waiting for a bit, before the door opened.
I got in, pressing 7, and waiting again.
I walked over to the door number, that I was told, and knocked on the door.
I heard a faint 'come in' and I opened the door, walking in, and giving James a disappointed look.
''I told you that you should've gone to the doctor.'' I said, taking a chair, and sitting beside the bed.
James' hand found it's way to my stomach, rubbing it lightly.
I smiled softly at him, laying my hand on top of his.
''I love you.'' He whispered, just before there was a knock on the door, a doctor then walking in.
He kept on talking, but the only thing I could focus on was when the words 'cancer' 'tumor' and 'six months to live'.
Tears filled my eyes, and I looked down.
I'm gonna be all alone on raising the baby.
I gulped, looking at James, who was looking at my stomach.
A bit after the doctor walked out, seeing as I didn't say anything.
''How am I going to raise this baby without you?'' I asked, a lump in my throat.
''I'm so sorry...'' James whispered, tears rolling down his face.
''It's not your fault James.'' I whispered, kissing him lightly.
-
I took a deep breath, stretching my back, before going back to sorting James' pills.
He was currently at work.
After I was done sorting the pills, I want into the living room, laying down, just wanting to sleep forever.
I still had to buy christmas gifts, and it's christmas the day after tomorrow.
I suddenly felt pain in my lower back.
Not just one of those I had sometimes, because I had been standing for too long.
This pain was much worse, nearly unbearable.
After about two minutes the pain eased down, making me sigh in releif.
I carefully sat up, waddling to the kitchen where my phone was.
I dialed James' work phone, but he didn't answer.
The same for his personal phone.
I tried his number multiple times, but there was nothing.
After that I tried Michael, but he didn't answer either.
I called him about 5 times, but it still got hung up after two or three rings.
I then tried Ruso. Not a thing.
This isn't good.
This is not good.
Suddenly I felt something warm run down my legs, and when I looked down, I saw that I was standing in a small puddle.
''Fuck.'' I mumble.
Now I'm desperate.
So I ended up calling Ashton.
At least he answered.
''Hey Luke, wha-''He began, but I cut him off.
''Ashton. My water just broke, and no one else is answering. Please. I need help.'' I sobbed into the phone, as I put my hand against the table, to support myself.
''Fuck. I'll be there in five minutes. Stay on the phone with me.'' He said. I then heard him say something away from the phone.
The talk became yelling, before it was interrupted by the banging off a door.
I took a deep breath, feeling another contraction approach.
I whimpered, grabbing onto my stomach, scrunching up my face.
''Luke. Baby. Deep breaths.'' I heard Ashton say. I stiffened at the rod 'baby', since he ahsn't called me that in almost 9 months.
After around five minutes of Ashton trying to calm me down, the front door opened, and Ashton hung up the phone.
I dropped my phone on the floor. holding my stomach.
''Luke!?'' I heard him yell through the apartment.
''In the k-kitchen.'' I said, hearing his footstep near me.
Suddenly I saw Ashton, as he lifted me up.
''Fuck it hurts.'' I whispered, resting my head against his shoulder.
I closed my eyes, and tried to remove my focus from the pain.
I ended up focusing on his hand on my thigh, and the way his thumb was rubbing small circles.
-
''Okay Luke. When you feel the next contraction, push okay?'' The nurse asked, as she sat between my legs.
I nodded, biting my lip, feeling the next contraction nearing.
I began pushing, and squeezed Ashton's hand, since James hadn't shown any signs of answering.
''You're doing good Luke. Just like that. Breath.'' The nurse said, and I felt the sweat begin to glide down my forehead.
-
The birth has begun.
And I wanted to kill James in a car accident, but then I thought about it, and he should be allowed to meet 'his' kid.
