I took a deep breath, before sitting down on the couch, looking at Elliot who was already sleeping.
''Happy new year...'' I whispered to myself, downing my glass of water, before leaning back and closing my eyes.
Ashton wasn't home.
Hasn't been the last three weeks, won't be the next three.
He's in the army, needing to train the new groups.
I let out a breath, thinking back to when I first met him.
-
I sighed softly, and walked over to a tree, and sitting down, leaning my head against it and closing my eyes.
''Hey you there! Boy!'' Someone yelled, making me open my eyes and see a not that tall, but really strong man in front of me.
I quickly stood up, looking at the guy.
He had a defined jaw, hazel eyes and rosy cheeks, probably from the sun shining above us.
''Are you lost boy. Head back to the cafeteria. It's dinner time.'' The guy sounded anything but something nice.
I gulped.
''I-I-I'm not l-lost...'' I mumbled, looking down at the ground, but starting to head towards the cafeteria.
''I'm not done speaking to you boy.'' I felt someone grab my arm in a strong grip, making me yell in pain.
When I was turned around I saw the guy roll his eyes at me.
''Wow. Great. Another pussy. How were you even able to get in here boy.'' He looked annoyed, and I was scared I had done something wrong.
''I uhm... My fiancé's dad thought I needed to toughen up a bit... And paid to get me here.'' I looked at the ground, hating how he looked at me.
''How are you even able to get a girlfriend if you're yelling in pain, just from a mild grip on your arm.'' I laughed shortly at his statement, making him growl.
''What's so funny boy.'' He lifted my head harshly, making it say a weird crack noise, but making my neck feel better.
''I dont have a girlfriend.'' I looked at how confused he got, and felt like laughing again.
''Thought you said you had a fiancé.'' He furrowed his brow, looking kinda hot. Only a Little. But James will always be hotter.
''I do... Just not a girlfriend.'' I stated, hoping he finally understood that I was a 100 percent gay.
''So you're a little gay boy. How motherfucking typical. Go eat boy. Now.'' He then turned me around and pushed me in the direction of the cafeteria.
-
I laughed shortly at the memory.
We were both so different back then.
I was just some skinny skrewny kid, who had my father in law pay hundreds of dollars, so I could 'toughen up' before my wedding, while Ashton was the strict general, who I feel actually went easy on me.
I rubbed my stomach, looking out of the window, seeing the neighbors were happily firing fireworks everywhere.
I slowly stood up, carefully lifting Elliot, and bringing him upstairs, laying him in his bed.
I tried to even my breath, but it didn't seem to help at all.
My vision began to get blurry, and I quickly got out my phone, dialing Ashton's number.
Just as he answered the phone, and I was about to answer him, I went numb and just before everything went black, I saw myself falling to the floor.
-
''Luke... Please wake up... Please...'' I could hear Ashton crying, as someone held my hand.
I tried moving my head, but something around my neck was stopping me.
I carefully opened my eyes, but shut them tightly together again, seeing as the whole room was so bright.
I winced lightly, before hearing the scattering of a chair, and a gasp.
''Luke...? Are you awake...? Baby are you awake...?'' I heard Ashton's concerned voice say, as I felt a hand brush my sweaty hair away from my forehead.
''Why am I in the hospital...?'' I mumbled, slowly opening my eyes again, and letting them adjust to the bright light.
''You fainted... It was just after midnight, and you called me. You didn't say anything, I just heard the thump of a body hitting the floor, and I called an ambulance since you didn't answer me. Fuck, I was so nervous.'' Ashton said, kissing my stomach.
''Where's Elliot...? Did anything happen to the baby...?'' I asked, looking down, but before I could see anything, Ashton turned my face towards him.
''There's nothing wrong with the baby...'' Ashton whispered, as I felt his hand rub my tummy, followed by a kick, making me smile.
''And Calum and Michael picked up Elliot about 15 hours ago...'' Ashton said, pulling his chair closer to the bed.
''How long have you been here...?'' I asked, running a hand through his tangled mop of curls.
''About 24 hours...'' Ashton said, as his hand went up and caressed my cheek.
''Have I been sleeping for that long...?'' I asked, scooting over in the bed, making room for Ashton.
''Yeah... The doctors said it was stress that caused you to faint, so they gave you some type of sleeping pill for pregnant people, and let you sleep and calm down.'' Ashton said, as he untied his shoes, taking them off and then laying in the bed beside me, his arms instantly going around me, as one of his hands went to my bump.
I nodded shortly, snuggling into Ashton's warm chest.
''How long will I have to stay here...?'' I asked, drawing small patterns on his chest.
''Until the baby is born, and the doctors are sure the both of you are well.'' Ashton said, before he gently kissed me, making the heart monitor speed up a little.
Ashton pulled away and smiled at me.
''I can't believe I still have that effect on you.'' He whispered, making me giggle.
''I love you...'' He then whispered, before leaning down and kissing my belly.
''Well I obviously love you too.'' I said, smiling at him, before he leaned back up and pecked my lips.
