''I'm sorry Charlie, I just can't do that. I have an important meeting. No I can't just cancel the meeting. This is important Charlie! My job would be on the line if I cancel! Well I'm the one who earn the most money anyway! You don't even make that much money for being a cop! Well everyone freaking hates you. Fine! I guess my dad was right. Never date a man who's job is his gun.'' I said before hanging up.

I just broke up with Charlie.

What the...

Ashton.

Okay yeah that made sense.

But I didn't want to run around behind Charlie's back.

It has been three months since Ashton and I shared that kiss in his car.

We decided not to get together or anything before I had broken up with Charlie.

Charlie had become more distant lately, and it was pissing me off.

So I was actually kinda happy to be rid of him.

Not meant to be mean but...

I love Ashton.

I took a deep breath, before walking back into my office, and walking over, turning Ashton's chair around, before kissing him deeply.

He quickly kissed me back, before pulling away again.

''So I'm guessing you broke up...?'' He asked, tracing my face with his thumb.

I nodded, pecking his lips lightly, before sitting down in my chair, and turning the computer so we both could look at the screen.

''Now let's build a house.'' I said, before many hours began, of designing our future home.

I unlocked the front door, to see that all Charlie's stuff were either gone, or in boxes.

I took a deep breath, before walking upstairs, to see the door to Elliot's room was open.

I walked in to see him playing with his toys, while Charlie was watching him.

''Hey...'' I mumbled, before walking over and kissing the top of Elliot's head.

Charlie completely ignored me, and just left the room.

I sighed deeply, before going downstairs, where Charlie was currently getting on his shoes and coat.

''Charlie...'' I said, looking at him sadly.

''No. I know you've been fucking him behind my back Luke. I'm not stupid. But that isn't what hurts. It's that fact that you played me for so long, acting as if you loved me.'' He said, while tears rolled down his cheeks.

''Charlie... I'm sorry... Believe me. I love you. Just not in that way... Not anymore.'' I said sadly, looking at him.

Charlie shook his head, before walking over and hugging me tightly.

''Just promise me that you won't hurt him... And take care of Elliot...'' He whispered, before taking the two boxes by the door, and walking out of the house.

A tear fell from my eye, as I heard the car drive away.

I had hoped it wouldn't go this way.

I took a deep breath, before going up and into the bedroom, and changing to my night wear.

I went in and got Elliot in bed, before I climbed into my own bed, tears still falling from my eyes.
