The Kids' Return

A week later, our wives' memories have begun to improve. Hermione remembers the time we got a horcrux from Bellatrix's vault in Gringotts. Ginny remembered the way Snape led the school. We all walked into Platform 9 3/4. There we instantly saw JAmes, Rose, Albus, Hugo, and Lily anticipating our return.

"Dad!" Albus shouted. "I'm in the Gryfinndor house!"

"Yea!" I replied. "I saw. By the way, have any of you seen Teddy?"

Ron and the kids looked around. Finally, we spotted him frolicking through the crowd of people.

"Hi Mr. Potter," greeted me.

"Hi Teddy!" I answered. "Did you get my owl?"

"Yes, sir!" he replied. "I'm completely aware of the incident."

"Good," I said. "What about you all?"

"We know about it, dad," they all said.

All of us piled into Ron's large flying car, and we drove down to our house. Hermione and Ginny stayed at home. James ran up to the front door as the rest of the group followed slowly. Once we opened the door, he ran inside and found Hermione and Ginny.

"Stop!" I shouted.

James and the others immediately stopped. They all sat down at the long table in the kitchen.

"Hermione, Ginny, here are your kids, nieces, nephews, and godchild," Ron announced.

"I'm James," James said.

"Lily," she added.

"Albus Severus," he smiled.

"Teddy," Teddy muttered.

"Ginny, these are our kids," I told her.

I couldn't imagine what our kids were thinking. They're probably saying, "This is our mom?" This is harder for the kids than it was for Ginny.

"Hermione, this is Rose and Hugo," he said. "Say hi."

"Hi," Hugo said, astonished.

"I'm Rose," she added.

The kids and our wives were both stunned. I knew this would be hard to get used to.

"Look everybody," I started. "Ron and I are going to make it better."

The kids and our wives stared at me.

"Kids, go upstairs and unpack," Ron ordered. "Dinner will be ready soon."

They all left and our wives began to prepare dinner. Albus, James, Lily, Teddy, Rose, and Hugo all marched upstairs and unpacked.

"Who were those ladies?" James asked aloud as he plopped down on his bed.

"I haven't the slightest idea," Lily answered.

"Dad will fix it," Albus interrupted.

Teddy, James, and Lily looked at him. Probably confused.

"He said so himself," Albus finished. "I believe in him."

Lily smiled in agreement.

"Dad never makes a promise he can't keep," Lily said.

Suddenly, Rose and Hugo came in. They were staying in a separate room.

"I don't feel comfortable about this," Rose said.

"Come in, Rose," Hugo muttered. "It'll be alright."

"Yea, Rose," Lily said. "When my dad makes a promise, he never breaks it."
