The sun rose bright and early as Dumbledore's Army awoke. Hermione, Ron, Harry, and Ginny all were awaken by the screaming. Hogwarts students were running for their lives as Death Eaters began to control the school. An owl from the Ministry of Magic came flying in during the chaotic time and delivered a letter. Hermione took it as Harry, Ron, and Ginny ran out into combat.

"This is pleasant!" Ron shouted through the chaos.

"What is?" Harry asked.

"Waking up to a beautiful morning, then you see screaming kids, and Death Eaters that want to kill you!" Ron said.

"Oh yea!" Harry agreed. "This is brilliant!"

Death Eaters targeted them and they drove them away from the students. They were back in the cobblestone courtyard again. Other members of Dumbledore's Army were already fighting.

"Avada Kevada!" Ron shouted as he killed a Death Eater.

"Ron!" Ginny exclaimed.

"What?" Ron asked.

"You just used the Killing Curse!" Ginny said.

"I know!" Ron replied.

They began to fight Death Eaters as more and more showed up. Some took over towers and began to make aerial attacks. They ran around helping their friends, but Harry stopped in his tracks when he saw one.

"Neville," Harry muttered.

Neville was bleeding out from the side of his head, right arm, and side. He was still conscious, but he couldn't hear. Harry began to heal Neville. He stopped the bleeding from his head and arm. Then, he got to his side. He helped Neville stand up and helped him get to safety throughout the battle. He set Neville in a safe area and told him to not move. Then, Harry went back into battle.

"Stupefy!" Harry casted as a Death Eater was knocked out.

Ginny, Ron, and Harry regrouped and waited for their next enemy.

"Harry! Watch out!" Ginny cried.

Harry turned around and was suddenly intertwined in a black twirling cloud. He and Voldemort crashed through building of Hogwarts as Death Eaters lit the school on fire once more. They crash landed back into the crowded cobblestone courtyard. A full out wizard's duel occurred and many Death Eaters and members of Dumbledore's Army moved out of the way. Then the Drifter came. Neville saw the Sword of Gryffindor appear in front of him again. It drifted closer and closer to the sparks of Harry and Voldemort's wizard's duel. Then their sparks of light diminished as the Drifter came in between them. Since Harry and Voldemort had been exposed to the hypnotic light, it was easier for them to resist it. Voldemort transformed into the moving black cloud and ran to avoid being weakened by his curses ricocheting off of the Drifter. However, the Drifter just kept moving towards them. Neville had to destroy it.

"Stupefy!" Harry casted, but missed.

Another wizard's duel broke out as they reached some staircases. The Drifter came towards them again as they carefully avoided it. Then they heard footsteps. Ron, Ginny, and Hermione all came racing towards them.

"Stop!" Hermione shouted.

"What are you doing here?" Harry asked as he continued the duel.

"Listen!" Hermione yelled. "If you guys damage the Drifter, you two could kill yourselves! Only another person can kill them...without the Killing C - "

"Got it!" Harry answered.

"Aren't you listening?" Hermione asked.

"I am, but as you can see...I'm a bit preoccupied!" Harry said as he raced off to catch Voldemort.

Hermione began to get frustered, because she had no magic to stop them.

"Why isn't he listening?" Hermione asked Ron and Ginny.

"I don't know, but if that Drifter gets hit with another spell - any spell - they could seriously be injured!"Ron exclaimed. "Come on!"

"Oh Harry!" Ginny sighed sadly and quietly as she ran behind her friends.

Harry and Voldemort reached the top of a tower and once more intertwined in a dark cloud. Hermione, Ginny, and Ron saw them fly around the campus again. Hermione got even more frusterated.

"Don't worry Hermione," Ron said. "Accio broomstick!"

"Accio broomstick!" Hermione casted.

"Accio broomstick!" Ginny repeated.

Three broomsticks came to their need and they flew up into the air to follow Voldemort and Harry. Several members of Dumbledore's Army thought the black cloud was another Death Eater. Several of them shot spells at them, but missed. However, one spell hit them. They both split apart and fell into the courtyard.

"Aresto momentum!" Harry and Voldemort casted.

They dropped and stopped a few inches above the cobblestone and fell. The quickly stood up as the Drifter came towards them. Neville saw it and sprang into action. The Sword of Gryffindor was calling his name. Adrenaline pumped through faster and faster as he and Drifter got closer and closer. Voldemort and Harry were going to try and finish the war once and for all.

"Avada Kevada!" Voldemort shouted.

"Avada Kevada!" Harry shouted as well as Voldemort.

The two jets of green light flew right past each other as each wizard was too busy watching their curse fly straight towards their opponent.

"Hi-ya!" Neville shouted triumphantly.

The Drifter was then destroyed. Then the two jets of light penetrated the two wizards' hearts. They both collapsed as the few last curses were shot. Everyone froze and stared at the Harry and Voldemort. Dead? Maybe.

"No!" Ginny screamed in pain in the silence.

She ran out to Harry and fell on her knees in the memory of Harry. He balled her eyes out as Hermione and Ron followed. Neville dropped the sword to join them all. Death was just about to take their souls.

"Harry!" Ginny sobbed as Ron gave her his shoulder to cry on.

"I was going to tell him," Hermione started, "each time the Drifter was hit with a spell - or worse - the Killing Curse, a part of it was destroyed. Since both wizards were still alive, the Drifter kept taking parts of their soul, causing them to feel weak. After being hit with the Killing Curse - what was it, twice? - they were both so easy and vulnerable to being killed if the Drifter was. Since Neville killed it before they were struck by each others' curses, they're...d-dead."

Some seventh and sixth-year students who were fighting, along with members of Dumbledore's Army, gathered as Death Eaters retreated and shined a light from their wands to show the light to heaven. Voldemort's body turned into ashes - however, everyone was concentrated on Harry.

"Oh, Harry...," Ginny whispered. "Love can only save him now."

She buried her head into Ron's shoulder as the lights from the wands of Dumbledore's Army and Hogwarts students dissipated into darkness.
