"Ouch!"
They sprang apart as quickly as they got together when they heard the undeniable screech from the one and only Mitch. "Umm, we just came to get some water," Scott mumbled, trying to come up with a lame excuse. Avi and Kirstie did not believe it for one second.
"All three of you needed water at the exact same time?" Kirstie raised one eyebrow and the group surrendered.
"Okay, fine! We were never asleep and so when we heard the music we came out and watched you two dance."
"And Kevin got it on Snapchat," Mitch added. Kirstie took out her phone and sure enough, there was a video with the caption, 'I ship it' of Kirstie and Avi slow dancing. She sighed, knowing there would thousands of screenshots of it all over Twitter.
"I'm going to bed," Kirstie muttered, leaving the room quickly. She almost felt like crying, the one and only chance she had of being with Avi flew out the window. It took so long for them to get to that stage, maybe that would never get back to it. She strode over to Avi's room, where she would be staying for a few days, and threw on her pyjamas.
She climbed into Avi's soft bed and tried to fall asleep but she kept playing the memory of her and Avi over and over again in her brain. She almost got out of bed to make some tea, but quickly ditched the idea when she heard the door squeak which meant someone had come in. Kirstie immediately shut her eyes and made light breathing noises to pretend that she was asleep. She knew by the hum of his deep voice that it was Avi that had walked into the room and it made her heart flutter.
Kirstie discreetly opened one eye to see Avi taking off his trousers and she felt the need to give him his privacy, so she closed her eyes again. A few minutes later, she felt his presence next to her and he cooed in her ear, "Goodnight Kit Kat." He kissed her shoulder like she did to him every morning, and she couldn't stop the goosebumps from forming on her skin. She had a feeling that the coldness was the cause of it though.
Even though Kirstie's back was towards him, she could still feel Avi toss and turn throughout the night. He seemed uncomfortable and Kirstie wondered if it was because of her. Eventually, in a fit of frustration, he tore away the blankets from himself and stormed out the room. Kirstie contemplated whether she should check on him or not, and she decided to go with the first option.
She quietly tiptoed out his room to see Avi standing in the kitchen, his face in his hands, leaning on the counter. "Avi?" She whispered and he shot up in an instant, his face heating up as well.
"Sorry Kirst, did I wake you up?"
"I was never asleep..."
They bathed in silence until Kirstie held out her hand and said, "Come back to bed." Avi was surprised at her action but slipped his hand in hers anyway. They climbed into bed without saying another word, but the tension was easing up a bit. Avi turned away from Kirstie, still feeling awkward and guilty from the night's events but Kirstie wasn't discouraged by this and took the opportunity to mould herself against Avi's back and threw one arm around his torso. She finally felt him ease up under her touch and the two drifted into sleep, unsure of what the morning would bring.
A double update because I felt like it :)
