Jack POV

When Matt and I got home, there was a sound of Tiny voices talking quietly that silenced as they saw us come in.

"How was yer day?" I asked them.

"Awesome," Nate answered.

"That's good. Nate, what happened to your shirt?" Matt noticed. Nate looked at his chest, acting like he was suddenly embarrassed by it, and walked over to a small pile of Tiny shoes, socks, shirts, and a pair of pants, and picked up a shirt. He showed us the back of the striped shirt, that now had a Tiny red handprint.

"Hey, Sam, why'd ye change clothes?" I noticed. Instead of the grey shirt and sweatpants from the morning, she had on blue jeans and a black shirt.

"My stuff got dirty," she answered.

"Nobody got hurt, right?" Matt needed to clarify, picking up Nate.

"No, we're both fine," Sam answered.

"Yeah," Nate agreed.

Matt squinted at Nate's neck.

"Is that a..."

"Hwat?" I went over to see and raised an eyebrow.

"Sam, come here. What is that?" I asked carefully, gesturing to a red mark on Nate's neck.

"That's paint. We, um, had a paint fight when you were gone," she answered. I exchanged a glance with Matt.

"There's some on me, too," Sam spoke.

"There was some on our arms but we washed it off," Nate added.

"Also our hair," Sam remembered.

"Okay. I believe them," Matt decided. "Me too. If we find out you were lying, you'll be in trouble," I decided.

"Why would we lie?" Nate asked.

"What else could it be?" Sam added. Matt and I exchanged another glance.

"I dunno," I answered carefully. I did know, but... 'they don't like each other, romantically, right? They just met yesterday! They wouldn't...' I decided to stop thinking about it. There was paint all over the newspaper and white paper I set out this morning. They probably just had a fun day. After Matt and Nate left, when Sam was having a bath, she cleaned off the mark and I saw it was clearly dried paint as I emptied her bathtub, a small bowl.
