Jack POV

On Friday, Nate asked me if I could take him to the mall on Saturday. I found it odd that he was asking me and not Matt, but after checking that it was okay with Matt, as well as asking my parents, I decided he could.

On Saturday, I picked up Nate from his place and we went on the bus to the mall. Nate stayed in my shirt pocket the whole time. I wouldn't mind if he sat on my shoulder, but maybe he's just scared to. I know I would be scared to sit on Felix's shoulder if I took a bus that was his size, and I know that because I have. It's terrifying.

"What did ye wanna buy?" I asked as we got into the mall.

"Fl-um-I don't know," Nate started to say something but I couldn't tell what it was.

We looked around at special sections of stores that had Tiny things. Nate was looking at feminine things, specifically jewellery, pretty carefully. When I realized what he was doing, I whispered to him.

"If ya wanna buy sumthin' fer Sam ye don' hafta keep it secret." Nate's whole face turned red.

"I-uh-well..."

"Ye should buy her a poster or a CD or sumthin' like that," I was still quiet. I walked out of the jewellery store and to a music store a few doors down.

"Why?" Nate asked.

"If ye give her flowers or a necklace or sumthin', she'd like it, but it would be kinda weird since right now you're Just Friends," I explained.

"Ye can still express yer feelin's fer her, but if ya got her flowers right away, it could be a little creepy. Ya don' wanna do that, right?" Nate nodded.

"Maybe ye could go out to a restaurant or sumthin'. I wouldn't mind takin' ya." I suggested.

"O-okay, um, if I'm doing something like this for a girl, do I really romantically love her?" Nate asked me.

"You betcha."

"Do you think she likes me back?""I hope so."
