Nate POV

Matt woke me up earlier than usual and I got up and dressed.

"Remember what you're doing today?" Matt asked. Still tired, I shook my head.

"I'm taking you to Jack's house and you're going to hang out with Sam while I'm at school," my eyes lit up as he said Sam's name. She's so nice and cool...and I would spend a whole day with her? 'Today is going to be a great day,' I thought to myself.

I was much more awake as we ate breakfast and left, taking the Public Transit. I was in Matt's shirt pocket. I covered my ears and had my earplugs in, but I could hear everything and watch Matt. Swish the doors opened. Beep. Matt put a card over a little screen and then sat down, closer to the door than yesterday. There was a swish again as the driver closed the doors and the vehicle started moving with a clunk from the machinery.

"Hey," Matt got my attention as my head snapped up to look at him.

"Are you okay?" he whispered and I nodded in reply.

We got off and arrived at Jack's house and the Human answered the door.

"Hi Nate, hi Matt!" Jack was full of energy. Sam was over on the kitchen table with newspaper all over the table and floor along with blank white paper on the table. There was also saucers of water and tubes of many different colours of paint.

"Hi," I replied.

"What's all that for?" Matt gestured at the kitchen.

"'Aert' is all she tells me," Jack shrugged.

"Just don't make a mess," he said. Matt carefully walked over to the kitchen and put me down.

"We'll be back at tree, since-"

"Tree?" I repeated. Matt cracked up.

"Three, Nate. We'll be back at three," Matt calmed himself down.

"-since the bus ride takes a bit a time," Jack finished.

"Okay," I said as I went over to Sam.

"What's all this for?" Matt asked Sam, gesturing to the paint.

"Art."

"Can you tell me what it's for?" I asked.

"Yeah." There was an awkward silence as I waited for her to tell me.

"I'll tell you when they leave," Sam broke the silence.

"Why don't we get to know?" Matt asked in a fake complaining voice. Because," Sam answered confidently.
"We should probably get goin'," Jack turned to leave. "Yeah," Matt followed. "Bye Matt," I said quickly. "Bye Nate. I'll see you at the end of the day," Matt said as he left.
It was just me and a really sweet Tiny girl. The two of us would be alone for a whole day.
