Nate POV

"Hey Matt," I asked him at supper that day.

"Yeah Nate?"

"Um, this is a weird question," I blushed. Matt looked at me, patiently waiting for the question.

"...how can you tell if you love someone? Um, romantically?" I looked down at the table as I mumbled that last word.

"Well, you usually think they're really attractive. You could love the sound of their voice. You want to spend more time with them and are disappointed if you have to leave them, or if they have to leave you." Matt answered the question without asking why.

"Really there is no exact way to know 100 percent, those are just common things I know happen," Matt added.

"Why?" There's that word.

"Just wondering," I ignored the look on his face.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" I asked him.

"Uh, well, I did," he said.

"Before I got you, I was dating a girl from my old school," Matt's tone changed.

"Her name was Maeve..." Matt trailed off and started staring into space. I ran over to Matt and started poking him in the arm to get him back into reality.

"Sorry," Matt came back into reality.

"No, it's my bad for bringing it up," I said.

"Why did you break up?" I was probably asking a really personal question, but curiosity got the best of me. Matt sighed.

"She became this obsessed fangirl of One Direction and I was moving to another town because of my dad's job and since I was going to a new school we wouldn't be able to see each other anymore..."

'Oh no. Please don't cry.' I climbed up to his shoulder and hugged his shoulder.

"I'm sorry," is all I said. He put a hand over my body to hug me back.

"Why did you ask?" Matt asked.

"Just wondering," I repeated. Matt had a look on his face again. I looked away and pretended I didn't see it.I didn't mention it again.
