When I walked intot the house I saw my Uncle having dinner.

"Hey Uncle?" I said to Snotlout's dad Spitelout.

"Mmmm hmmm" he said while stuffing his face with chicken.

"Can I take my supper and go and have a pick nick?" I said.

"Sure" said Spitelout through a mouthful of food.

I was going to take some of the leftover chicken, but there didn't seem to be any left. Urghhhh sometimes it was annoying living with Spitelout, Snotlout and his mum. Oh well I thought grabbing my fishing rod from behind the door, I grabbed some blankets, there was a strong wind blowing outside, at least the snow had cleared up.

"Bye" I said closing the door not waiting to hear a reply. I made my way through the houses past lit windows.

I shuddered, I missed my father, he had made me leave my hometown and come live on berk with his brother Spinelout. My mother had died at an early age, but I was old enough to remeber her face and it hurt. Tears ran down my face as I thought of father, my town had been under siege from pirates when I had left with some of the towns elders, they had all continued onto other islands but not before dropping me off on Berk. I didn't even know if my father was alive.

I walked into the forest it had started raining but I didn't care. I sat down by a medium sized lake surrounded by a clearing, there should be plenty of fish in here. I placed some bread on my rod's hook and cast it out, it was raining very heavily now and I new that the fish wouldn't come up for the food. I remebered the blankets and stuck my rod into the soft ground and picked up the blankets beside me.

I ran for the cover of the forest as thunder boomed over head followed by a flash of lightning. I heard a loud crack that could be heard over the roar of the wind. I looked up to see a pine branch tumbling down to me, I screamed as it his my head, the ground was rushing up to meet me. Everything went black.

When I woke up my clothes were still damp but the ground under me felt really warm, there was no rain falling, I opened my eyes grogily. My head felt like hell as I turned over and looked up expecting to see the dark sky but insted there was a large pair of orange brown wings, a cream belly and a head looking at me.

"Timberjack!" I gasped. It looked quite small compared to the size that Timberjacks were known to grow to. I watched as the dragon lowered his wings so that his head was about a meter away from me, but not enough to let the clod wind in.

"Grrrhggg?" It said looking at me.

"Easy..." I said looking quickly at the dragons horns, they were slightly curled at the ends "boy"

I held my hand out slowly, hoping he wouldn't bite it off, his eyes narrowed and he drew his head back a bit.

"Easy, easy" I said letting him come back to me, I don't know why but I wanted this dragon to be my friend.

I pressed my hand against his warm snout and he gurgled happily, hmmmm by his breeds standards he was quite small, a bit bigger than a Monstrous Nightmare, maybe he was still young. He nudged me with his head and I scratched his chin, this made him very happy. I walked over to his wings and he parted them letting me out, I steered clear of their razor sharp edges.

The rain had stopped and the sun was rising, there was still a cold wind. People would have realized that I was gone.

"Come on boy" I said he lowered his wings and layed his head on the ground, he seemed to be waiting for me to climb on. I had seen the others do it all the time but never actually riden a dragon myself. I hesitated. He growled encouragingly.

"Ok lets try this" I said walking over to him, I sat down on his neck, right next to his head. He raised his head and growled at me he must have been saying hold on because imediatly after he lept into the air flying up high before diving down and gliding along the tree tops.

"Whoooo!" I shouted holding onto his neck as he sliced off the top of one of the trees as though it wasn't evern there.

We flew over the plaza and I watched as people looked up and stared the twins among them they jumped on Barf and Belch and rose up behind me.

"Cool dragon Willow!" shouted Tuff over the wind.

"Thanks!" I yelled back and we flew down to the accademy.

Hiccup, Astrid, Snotlout and Fishlegs were already there. They stared as the Timberjack and I landed before the accademy, I walked proudly infront of my new friend. He struggled to get in a bit but in the end he managed folding his wings closely against his snake like body.

"Hey everyone" I said blushing as everyone stared at me as I patted the Timberjack's neck he growled happily.

"Is that..." began Hiccup.

"I think it is!" exclaimed Fishlegs.

"Is it a what?" said Snotlout arrogantly, standing next to a nervous looking Hookfang.

"Timberjack" Said Hiccup faintly. "Dad is going to kill me"

"Yep your dead" Astrid said from his side. Hmmmm what secret were they sharing this time.

"Guys I should have told you this earlier" he said grabbing Jem's tail as she tried to chase after Ash "be quite for a moment" they walked gloomily over to Shadow and Toothless. "My Dad has had offers for our dragons, he lectured me about it the day we got back from the nesting grounds, he was woried we would be attcked if anyone finds out about them" he said nodding towards the Night Furys. "Now that we have a Timberjack, other islands won't hesitate to march on Berk."

"Wait so we are going to be attacked?" said Tuff "that's so awesome"

"No it isn't idiot" said Ruff pushing her brother off his dragon.

"Hiccup!!!" Shouted Stoick the Vast's voice from very close by.

"Uh oh" said Hiccup as his father stared at the Timberjack.
