Chapter 11: Outcast's

Astrid's P.O.V

The horn was blown another 3 times as I ran towards the Great Hall, Stoick and Gobber had just come out. 

"Stoick!" Shouted Mulch running towards them with Bucket, I sped after them. "It's the outcasts!" Mulch cried almost crashing into the chief but stopping just in time. 

"What?" I said surprised we hadn't heard anything from the outcast for almost a year now. 

"They have caught us by surprise" murmed Bucket to no one in particular. 

"People of Berk!" Roared Stoick facing a croud that had come to the great hall for orders, "we are under attack! Gather your weapons and meet back here as soon as possible. 

"Were are they Mulch?" Said Stoick 

"About 200 meters from shore" he said holding onto his knees gasping. 

"We have time" Said stoick stroking his chin. "Astrid call the wild dragons." 

I had been practicing my dragon calls for years now, but they were still not as good as Fishlegs who was a natural. "But Stoick," I said alarmed "I can't they all have hatchlings some of which are only a few weeks old, if the mother comes so do the kids" 

"We need them otherwise we have no hope" said Stoick. 

"But they'll be killed!" I cried. 

"Without the dragons....." began Stoick, "No...No I can't." 

Stoick seemed rather anxious I had never seen him like this. 

"Ok... Take Hiccup and the rest of the accademy" said Stoick pulling me away from Gobber and Mulch who were discussing the best way to begin the attack. 

"Stoick what are you talking about?" I asked. 

"Take Hiccup and the dragons and get off Berk, we'll deal with the outcasts."

"But Stoick...." I began, this was definetly not what I had expected. 

"That's an order Hofferson!" he said angrily. 

It was stay here and fight, disobeying my chief or get Hiccup and the others to safety. 

"Ok" I said quietly. 

Stoick pulled me into his arms and hugged me which was strange. 

"Look after him Astrid" he said softly "Now go!" 

I ran into the great hall whistling for Stormfly to follow me. I put Hiccup on Stormfly's back with help from Toothless who had followed us in. He groaned but didn't open his eyes, "hang in there Hiccup" I said strapping him into the saddle. 

I jumped on Toothless and we flew out of the great hall. We got to a good hight and I wondered what to do next, I had seen Hiccup do this only once before when we had been atttacked by Dagur a few years ago. 

"Do you know what to do Toothless?" I asked putting my hand on the black dragons head. 

He snorted as if to say 'Duh!', he raised his head to the sky and I blocked my ears quickly. I could still hear the thunderous roar, who new such a cute dragon could do that. 

I heard the roar echoing through Berk Toothless roared a second time even louder than the first. Hopefully the others would be here soon, but if we were leaving Berk then we needed supplies. 

Fishlegs P.O.V

I was sitting at a table with the rest of the gang waiting for Hiccup and Astrid to come back  when I heard the yak horns followed buy a thunderous Night Fury. 

We all looked to the skies, 

"What was that?" Asked Tuff.

"Probably just a false alarm" said Snotlout admiring himself in a peice of glass he had found.

At the sound of the second roar all our dragons had perked up, sitting heads cocked to the side listening, as it echeod they replied and we all covered out ears.

"I don't think that is a false alarm" I said walking over to Meatlug. "Well come on you idiots!" 

Astrid's P.O.V

The rest of the gang and Heather got to the plaza in a matter of seconds, Hiccup was right this roaring thing really was worked well. I had most of the stuff we would need, but for good or bad reasons I figured we wouldn't be away from Berk for long. 

"Astrid what's going on!" 

"What's happening?"

"What's wrong with Hiccup" 

They all bombarded me with questions once they had got off thier dragons. 

"Be quiet!" I shouted over their blabering. "We need to get off Berk, I'll explain when we are far enough away, Chief's orders" 

"But what was the horn for" asked Heather to my surprise. 

"We are under attack from Alvin and the outcast's" I said grimly. 

"Cool!" said Tuff enthusiasticly only to get a punch that sent him stumbling to the ground, from his  sister of course!                                                    

"Guys come on I have supplies we need to leave imediatly" I said, from the sound of the batttle cries it seemed that the Outcast's had arrived. 

We all mounted our dragons, except Heather. 

"I'm not coming" she said defiently "I won't leave my parents" 

"Heather as much as I hate to say this but.. you have to come with us." I said " Alvin will do anything he can to get his hands on that dragon" 

Heather looked at Spike sadly, "I can't leave"

"Stormfly" I sighed. She roared and Spike looked at her listening, he the picked Heather up and jumped into the air, carrying a shouting Heather. 

"Come on guys!" I said "Stocmfly be careful!" 

We all launched into the air. "everyone follow me!" 

"Why should we?" Asked Snotlout. "Everyone knows that a man should be leading this mision." 

"I am second in charge of the Accademy of Dragons when Hiccup isn't around. I'm going to say this one more time... FOLLOW ME!" 

Snotlout went silent and flew after me, the four Night Fury's and Stormfly. 

"We need to take the long way around!" I shouted over the wind to the others. "Otherwise the Outcast will see us and try and figure out were we are going and follow." 

"Were exactly are we going?" Asked Willow from the back of Felix who was given a wide berth from the other dragons who were stearing clear of his wings. 

"You'll know when we get there." I said. 

I looked back at the Plaza and could see Viking and Outcast engaged in combat. As we drew further away the only thing that could be heard was the wind.

The wind was free. Free to do what it wanted and not have anyone tell it what to do. Sometimes I wish I was like that.
