You are the song I sing

"where were you?" Cath asks me as soon as I enter her bedroom.

"Uh, I was talking to Gabriel...?" I give my answer, not sure if she'll like it.

"Change your statement. I'm sure he was the one who stopped you and started a conversation."

"Actually no. I'd stopped to say a hi. He took the lead after that."

"And he shows it to the world that he has a loving girlfriend." Cath rolls her eyes and I frown.

"What do you mean, he shows it to the world?" I ask, sitting down beside Hailey, who's suddenly shifted to her silent mode.

"Have you ever seen Gabriel and Shelby together? They are like two opposite poles of a magnet; always repelling each other. I won't be surprised if one day Gabriel comes up to me and tells me that all this long, his romance with Shelby was nothing but a big fat lie."

"You're not saying that he's fake dating Shelby for publicity and success..."

Because if that is the truth, my whole obsession and love for Gabriel will shatter into innumerable pieces. And I'll cry to bed every single night till the day I die. That's so far fetched from what Gabriel Stone is actually like...

"No way! I know my brother is a pathetic jerk, but he'll never do anything like that. There definitely is his manager's hand in all this bullshit. God, I despise that man."

"I.. this is so confusing."

"Oh, forget about it. We were talking about what song you will sing for us." Hailey winks and I groan.

"Please, no. Who told you that I sing, huh?" I ask.

"Elliot Reed." They both answer together and I get this strong urge to behead that monster.

"Elliot better wears an armor to bed every single night." I mutter and Hailey starts snickering.

"Come on. Sing up."

"Look. I'd love to sing for you. But, trust me when I say this. I don't want Gabriel to hear me sing."

"Liana, I've been considering this for a while now. What is going on between you and my brother, who claims to have a celebrity girlfriend?"

I swallow hard.

Well, in all honesty, I'm sickeningly tired of pretending that Gabriel and I have no history. Jeez, that sounds so weird.

So, I decide to blurt out the truth to these two lovely human beings, whom I consider to be trustworthy enough to keep my secret with them in all security.

"Okay. I'll share something with you, but you have to promise me to not tell this to anyone." I start and they both share a glance.

"Deal. Jesus, Liana. You're freaking me out." Hailey says and I ignore her.

"Okay, well. Gabriel and I have talked before." As soon as I say this, I look away and try not to make eye contact with any of them. As if having an online conversation with Gabriel Stone is a crime...

"That's it?" Hailey asks.

"How come?" Cath asks.

Do you wanna what those four words sounded like?

Tat-sit-ao-kam.

Go ahead and laugh, because I am contemplating on doing that.

"Would you mind saying that turn by turn? I mean, I'm a simple human being who only has the ability to hear you say simple words..." I smile sarcastically and they both roll their eyes.
