After sleeping for a few hours, I was woken up by a horrible nightmare. It was the same as always, Jax as a teenager, killing us. I was sitting awake in the dark just watching the others sleep when I noticed a car going by. It was probably a Delfunie car so I didn't try and wave it down. I did wake Ragnar though.

"Mavis? What's going on? Are you okay?" I just nodded and pointed to the car that was still coming down the road. He quickly woke Richard and asked what he wanted us to do. He just told us to be quiet. I just laid back on the ground and closed my eyes. Just as quickly as it had shown up, the car was gone. We all took a deep breath of relief and went back to sleep. Well everyone but me. I just lay there, thinking about Jax and started to wonder what he was doing right now. Was he happy? Was he hungry? Was he safe? That nightmare just kept playing in my head and it scared me. If we don't get to him soon, that was my future. That was Jax's future. That much I knew for sure.

The morning came quickly, I never actually went back to sleep so I just watched the sunrise. I'm pretty sure we're somewhere close to Elizabethtown, Kentucky, I wasn't completely positive but I did see a sign at some point last night and I knew that we were headed that way. Ragnar helped me up and we started walking again. We were quickly stopped.

"I know a guy in town and he can get me a car. I just need you two to stay here so I can get it. I don't want Lucian catching on that we're coming. I don't think taking Alex will tip him off much so I'm going to take him." Richard explained as we started to pack things up. I honestly was relieved. I didn't want to have to walk on my leg. It hurt just sitting here.

"That actually sounds like a good idea. I don't want Mavis excreting herself, not with her leg. We'll stay here. Just what do you want us to do if any Delfunie show up?" Ragnar asked. I looked up at Richard as he reached in his pack. He pulled out a box and placed it in Ragnar's, handing him the key.

"That's my gun and plenty of bullets. If you find one that gives you trouble, shoot them. I won't take any chances with this." Ragnar nodded and Richard walked away, explaining that he'll only be a few hours. I watched as Richard went over to Alex and they both walked down the road.

We were both worried when Richard and Alex didn't return on time. I began to fear the worst as an hour past and they still hadn't returned. I feared that they were caught, that Lucian found them or maybe even Richard turned on Alex. I was scared something had happened to them.

When it was two hours past their supposed return time, Ragnar started pacing. It was driving me crazy. I had started yelling at him to stop but he wouldn't so I let it go. We hid from about five or six cars that had made their way down the road.

I was starting to get cold as the day went on and the sun shifted in the sky. I had asked Ragnar with his jacket when I noticed another car coming down the road. I pulled Ragnar down and waited for the car to pass.

But the car didn't pass. It stopped along the side of the road and actually started to drive through the field we had been sitting in. I got a good look at it and it was a black SUV but I couldn't see the driver. I kept my head down and waited to see what would happen next.

"Mavis, stay here." I protested but he didn't listen and I knew with my leg, I wasn't going to be able to catch up with him without help. So I stayed and I waited. I tried to calm down but my heart refused to slow.
Ragnar had never given me his jacket so I was down on the cold ground, shaking as I waited for whatever was to happen next. I didn't hear anything, see anything out of place so I stayed down for another minute.

"Mavis, it's just the guys. Come on out." I slowly got up as best I could with my leg and started limping through the muddy grass to get to everyone. Ragnar looked back and saw me struggling and quickly came over to help. He basically picked me up and carried me over, my feet barely touching the ground.
