I started yelling out and thrashing around as the guys fought to hold me down. I couldn't bare the intense pain coming from my right hip.

"Mavis, we need you to stay still. I know this hurts but we need you to stop so we look at it. Baby, please." I could barely comprehend what Ragnar was saying. I looked everywhere with wide eyes and tried to breathe. I couldn't believe what was going on. I couldn't understand. The only thing that made sense at this point was the pain.

"Ragnar, you need to hold her down. Alex give me her arm." I heard Richard but I couldn't make out what happened after that.

I woke up and I noticed that I was laying on the bench seat in the back of the SUV. I tried to sit up but I felt a sharp pain and yelled out.

"Hey! Careful, you'll pop your stitches." I heard Alex say. I looked up and saw that he was sitting on the floor in between the two captain seats. I tried to look passed him to see where Richard and Ragnar were but I couldn't see passed the chairs. I groaned as I laid back down.

"Where's Ragnar?" I asked, my voice tried and weak, just as I felt.

"He's outside. He's taking this pretty hard." I nodded and tried to move to where I was more comfortable. He tried to help but by the time he realized what I was doing, I was already done.
Richard came back then. He looked up and smiled when he saw I was awake.

"You're up. That's good. You'll live." He said, humor clear in his voice. I smiled and tried to laugh but it hurt too much.

"What happened?" I asked, looking to both of them for answers. What humor was just shared between the three of us was suddenly gone as they looked at each other.

"That's better told by Ragnar." I looked up at Richard as Alex nodded in agreement. I just looked down and nodded. That was when I noticed the IV in my hand. I looked up for an answer.

"Antibiotics. I couldn't risk infection, I'll take it out in a day or two." Richard said, checking the bag. I remembered when Ragnar had been shot and an IV and feeding tube was the only things keeping him alive.

The guys both got out of the car and I looked out the window and saw them walk up to Ragnar who stood from where he was sitting. I couldn't see very well but I could see how upset he was. They talked for a few minutes before Ragnar looked towards me, nodded, and started for the car.

I, again uncomfortable, tried to find a position that didn't hurt. I stopped when Ragnar was finally standing in front of me. He didn't look happy. I smiled a small smile as he sat down against my seat, taking my hand before kissing it.

"We didn't think we'd be able to save you. You were bleeding so bad, Mavis. We couldn't stop it." I finally settled and I could tell he was still crying. From what I could see of his face, it was bright red and so were his eyes. I squeezed his hand, hoping that would make he calm down a little.

"Ragnar, what..."

"Why, Mavis? Why?" He asked, his voice cracking. His question confused me. He was asking me?

"I don't understand." I said, hoping he would clarify.

"Mavis, I understand it's been hard. I do, I know that these last few months were rough with not knowing where Jax is or if he's okay. I also know that this has been a long trip even if it has only been a week and killing Lucian was hard for you to get passed but why?" He asked again. I still didn't understand, what was he getting at.

"Ragnar, I don't..."

"Why did you do this?" What? I did this? How did...when did I...

"I...I did this...to myself?" He turned then, looking just as confused as I felt. He didn't seem to understand either.
