Over the next few months, things seemed to quiet down. Word slowly got around that Lucian was dead and so was Ross. People started to realize we can fight back so they did. The number of Delfunie started to fall. Daily we would watch the news and everyday, it would get lower.
I finally received the paperwork saying Emilee's adoption was final and I am officially her mother. She couldn't be happier. She finally had a mother she could trust, a mother she knew she could rely on.
Nathan, after realizing I wasn't going anywhere again, still was the closest to me. The twins just did whatever and Emilee became closer but Nathan was the closest.
Jax was amazing. He became accustom to the household fairly quickly. He cried for the first few days but after that, he was fine.
My parents dotted on the kids, all five of them. They buy them things, take them places and everything actually going good.
It's March now and Jax is now one. He started losing his teeth already, which scared me until Ragnar told me it was completely normal due to his Delfunie side. So I relaxed and was overjoyed when I noticed normal human teeth started taking their place.
"Ragnar! Come, quick!" I yelled when I spotted the tooth. He was so excited, we almost threw a party.Today, the day after Jax's one year birthday party, I stand alone, shocked beyond belief. I slowly sat down on our bed, tears filling my eyes. When Ragnar walked in, he looked a little worried.
"Mavis? Babe, what is it?" He asked, concern thick in his voice. I couldn't speak, I was so completely taken by surprise that I didn't know what to say. I looked up at him and watch his eyes sweep my entire body, making sure I wasn't hurt.
"Ragnar." I finally got out, my voice cracking a little. "I'm pregnant." Ragnar looked a little confused at first, then what I had just said began to sink in.
"You're what?" He yelled out in excitement, he grabbed me and lifted me of the floor, twirling me around. We've been trying since about a month after we got home. I know, Jax wasn't even a year old and my body wasn't in the best shape but we really wanted just one more kid. Just one that the other one didn't adopt.
"That's amazing, Mavis." He kissed me deeply and every thing seemed truly right. We were beginning to think Lucian had lied about me being able to have more children.
"One thing." I said, smiling. He looked a little concerned. "It better be a girl." We both started laughing. "We have enough boys."
"Mama." We turned to see Jax waddling in. He is still progressing faster then most babies his age but I don't care. He's still my son and I wouldn't have him any other way.
"Hey, bud." Ragnar picked him up and brought him over. We sat on the bed, just sitting together, happy to have our son.
