A/N: Why can't guys be as perfect in real life as they are in books and/or movies? Ugh!

Ch. 7
We pulled up to Damon’s about 15 minutes later. “Is this okay with you? You like wings, not that they don’t have more but…”
“No this is great. I love wings.” I smiled and hoped out of his truck.
The atmosphere of this place was just fun. It had a section for the bar, and then just regular tables. There were huge TVs across from where the bar was, and smaller ones throughout the place so that everyone could watch whatever game was on at the time. They also had a trivia game you could play. “Just the two of you tonight?” The hostess smiled at us.
“Yep.” David said.
“Table or booth?” She asked.
David looked at me and I shrugged. “Uh, table I guess.” She led us to our table, gave us our menus and told us our waiter would be out shortly. “Get whatever you want. I don’t care.”
“Okay.” I wasn’t used to going on dates. Actually, to be honest, this was my first real date.
The waitress finally came back and took our drink orders and our orders. I ended up getting ten medium wings and David got 15 hot wings. “They really aren’t that hot.” He said after I gave him a look like he wouldn’t be able to eat that many.
“Okay, well when we get our food I’ll just try one then.” I teased him.
“Be my guest.” He said and laughed. “Okay, so I have to know. Why the sudden change of heart? I’m still pretty shocked you agreed to go on this date with me.” He folded his arms and leaned on the table.
I ran my fingers through my hair, and twirled it. It was a nervous habit I had. “I don’t know. You just made me realize that you weren’t who I thought you were. You really are a sweet guy. I figured I could at least give you a chance.”
Unless I was imagining it, it looked like he paled a little when I said he was a nice guy, but that could just be from the lighting in here. It wasn’t exactly the best. “And if this date is all you hoped for?”
“Then I guess we go from there?” I wasn’t exactly sure how he wanted me to answer that, but I guess it was the right answer, considering he smiled at me. Plus, I didn’t know where I wanted this to go. I was still kind of surprised we were here right now.
“Great.” He said.
They brought out our meal and sat it in front of us. As soon as the waitress was gone, David put one of his wings onto my plate. “Now, no sauce or anything. Just try it.”
I took a bite and it wasn’t hot at first, but the longer it sat there the hotter it got, even though it still wasn’t as hot as I figured it would be. “Fine. So it really isn’t that hot, but they are still hot enough. Let’s see you eat 5 without any sauce and not having to stop for a drink.” I challenged him.
“Easy.” He said and started on his first wing. I smiled and dipped my own in blue cheese and then took a bite. Much better and to my liking. Even if it wasn’t too hot, the sauce made it that much better.
David was working on his fifth one by the time I was on my third. “Sweating yet?” I asked. He shook his head. “Tongue on fire?”
“Just a little but it’s not unbearable.” I frowned. Fine. I knew my tongue would have been on fire by that point and I would need water or something to cool it down. He chuckled and finished his fifth one. “Can I take a drink now?”
