Mon amour

I feel so awkward now, Papa and I having an intimate breakfast with Edge's parents and Uncle. I mean, why? Meet the parents lang? Or ako lang ang nagbibigay ng malisya? Traiva naman, they're just a family friend! Don't think too much, you'll just create a problem that wasn't even there in the first place. But hell, this thought gave me goosebumps.

Ganito pala ang epekto ng crush, ano? You tend to assume so many, many things. What's the thing called when your crush likes you back? Of course, imagination!

"So you all gonna spend the vacation here until new year?" tanong ni Papa habang kumakain.

"Most probably." it's Edge's dad.

"There's no other reason behind this?"

Natawa si Uncle Ferdinand at Edge's dad.

"Or you canceled your plans because my daughter's here?"

"No, Uncle. We actually liked to spend the of rest vacation here. You don't have to worry anything about it." sagot ni Edge. I heard an intentional cough at mga mahinang pagtawa.

"It's only you who liked it, your majesty." bulong ng Mommy ni Edge.

"Really, sorry for the trouble, Ferdinand. You know–"

"No problem, you know you can always count on me."

Nagkwentuhan pa sila tungkol sa mga bagay-bagay. Tahimik lamang akong kumakain.

"I need to answer this call. Excuse me." paalam ni Papa bago tumayo at lumabas.

Nagkatinginan sila Uncle Ferdinand at Edge's dad. After that, Edge's mother whispered something to her husband. Agad itong ngumiti ng pilyo.

"How's Emilio, Traiva?" Edge's father asked.

"I enjoyed his company, Uncle. Emilio's seems to be very keen of his work, he explained so many unfamiliar things to me."

"Yes, he's too passionate in this field. That's why I like him." sagot ni Uncle Ferdinand at nakangisi while looking at his nephew.

"He told me he's a former farmer. Did he really earn his keep? It is so inspiring."

"Our farmers deserves praises. They live on the saying 'You don't get anything you don't work hard for'. And Emilio knows that."

"You heard that son?" Edge's mom whispered.

"Farmers farm because of love. They must do it for love. They love to live for they work and to work where they live. It is not a job, it is a way of life. They could work in acres rather than hours. We should thank them."

For a man with millions of money, saying something like this was almost impossible. I'm really impressed by his kindness, integrity, humility, and generosity.

"You really like here? Do you?" Edge's mom asked.

"Of course po. Who wouldn't?"

"My own–" singit ng daddy ni Edge.

The three people laughed again. Kumunot ang noo ko.
