"Y/n, what was your mom like?" Jimin suddenly asks me.
"My mom?" I ask for confirmation.
He nods his head in reply. "Yes your mom."
"Why do you suddenly ask?"
"I'm just wondering." He says as he looks ahead of him.
There was a short silence between us as I was thinking of how to answer his question. While I'm thinking of my mom a smile appears on my face.
"My mom was both a mother and a father. She was kind, caring and gentle like a mother and was strict and protective like a father. To me, she was my mother, sister, best friend and my knight in shining armour. She knew all of my deepest and darkest secrets. She would always guide me on the right path whenever I went astray. She also kept me safe, even if it meant putting her own life in danger to protect me."
A single tear escaped my eye but I quickly wiped it away. I need to stay strong until I finish the story.
"She taught me so many lessons about life that everything that happens reminds me of her. When I was younger, she would plan my wedding day with me and she would create designs of the wedding dress that I would one day wear. It's just a shame that she won't be with me on my wedding day... that's if I even have the opportunity to get married, but it's almost guaranteed that I won't."
By now more tears are running down my face and no matter how hard I try to wipe them away, they just keep coming.
"She sounds like an incredible women. I bet she was as beautiful as you." Jimin says in an almost happy tone but I notice that there's a bit of empathy with it.
"I'm the spitting image of her." I say with a proud yet sad smile on my face.
"I've never quite known my mom." Jimin tells me.
"How so?" I ask while putting my chin on his left shoulder so that I can listen to his story clearly.
"My mother died when I was only 3 years old, so I don't remember much about her. I just remember that she was very caring and always made me happy."
"How did she die?" I ask in a soft voice.
"She was killed by humans. It was during the war and the humans attacked the house while my dad was working at the army base. I was just playing in the living room like a normal 3 year old child and my mom was with me, but she was sitting on the couch reading a book and keeping an eye on me. My mom heard something outside but I was making a lot of noise so she shrugged it off."
I was listening intently while imagining what was happening as he tells me the story.
"She carried on reading her book but then an object was thrown into the room through the window. I later discovered that it was a smoke grenade. The smoke was thick in the room, so thick that I couldn't see my mom who was only a few feet away from me. I was so scared I started to cry. My mom suddenly picked me up and started running out of the room and towards my dad's office which was on the second floor."
This story is now getting intense. Although he doesn't remember a lot about his mom, he remembers this incident vividly because he was full of fear at the time.
"She entered the office and locked the door behind her. She then went towards the book shelf and pulled out a book, causing the entire shelf to move and it revealed a metal door and a scanner. The scanner scans your eyes so when she looked into the scanner, the door opened. The door led to a safe room that was impenetrable. My mom quickly put me in the room. There was shouting coming from downstairs and I knew it was the intruders that were shouting. My mom told me to stay in the room and not come out until my dad came to get me and that I mustn't make a sound."
