Trying To Get Back

Cream and Cheese gets inside the room but Cream growled and angrily slams the door. That inside her mind, a brief tremor shakes Family Island.

Back with you and Shadow who have gone through Goofball Island and are contemplating the bridge connecting the island to Headquarters. "We’re gonna walk out there, on that?" Ask Shadow, pointing at the island.

You nodded and replied, "It’s the quickest way back."

Then Shadow noticed the cliff with dark at the bottom, "But it's over the Memory Dump. If we fall, we’ll be forgotten forever."

You looked down, feeling nervous but sighed, "We have to do this for Cream. Just follow my footsteps."

As you started walking on the narrow bridge, you looked down, having the feeling to faint, you reassure him, "Not that high. It’s totally fine-" You looked down and starts to get woozy from the height and nearly falls.

"Oh boy." You mumbled.

Later as Cream is sulking in her room, Randy comes to check on her, "Hey. So, uh, things got a little out of hand downstairs. Do you want to talk about it? ... Come on. Where’s my happy girl?" He attempts to tickle her to cheer Cream up.

"Aw, man. He’s trying to start up Goofball." Said Knuckles as the emotions go over to look at Goofball Island but it’s still shut down, as the core memories are missing it’s unable to activate, and instead crumbles and falls into the abyss, nearly taking you and Shadow with it.

You screamed as you almost felled, but luckily, Shadow caught you in time, he carried you in bridal style as you blushed, looking into his beautiful cinnamon, red eyes.

Randy frowned and sighed, "I get it. You need some alone time. We’ll talk later." He then exist the room.

Rouge looked at Knuckles and Silver and gave them a worried glare, "We have a major problem."

Silver nodded and looked out at the islands, "Oh, (Y/n). Where are you?"

-Back with you and Shadow-
Shadow looked at you, then back at the lost island, "We lost Goofball Island. That means she can lose Friendship, Soccer, Honesty and Family. You can fix this. Right, (Y/n)?"

You continued to look into his eyes but snapped out of it, "I… Uh, I don’t know. But we have to try. Okay, come on." Then everywhere turned dark.

You smiled as you hopped out of Shadow's arms with the cord memories in your arms, "Cream's gone to sleep. Which is a good thing, when you think about it. Because nothing else bad could happen when she’s asleep. We’ll be back to Headquarters before she wakes up. We’ll just go across Friendship Island." You explained as you look across.

"You know we’ll never make it." Frowned Shadow.

You looked at him, "No, no, no, no, no, no. Don’t obsess over the weight of life’s problems! Remember the funny movie where the dog dies!" You said, trying to cheer him up.

He then starts to look down. You frowned sightly, "Oh, Shadow. We don’t have time for this. We’ll, just have to go around. Take the scenic route." You then started to walk towards the labyrinthine storage area of Cream's long term memory.

But Shadow walked up to you, "Wait. (Y/n), you can get lost in there."

You chuckled and told him, "Think positive."

He then sighed, "Okay, I’m POSITIVE you will get lost in there. That’s long term memory. An endless warren of corridors and shelves. I read about it in the manuals."

You then tried to remember, "Manuals? Manuals! You read the manuals!"

He just shrugged, "Yeah."

"So you know the way back to Headquarters."

He just nodded. You giggled and squealed, "You are my map. Let’s go. Lead on, my map. Show me where we’re going."

"Okay, only. I’m too sad to walk. Just give me a few hours to…" Suddenly you grabbed Shadow's arm and starts dragging him.

As you started dragging Shadow by his arm through the long term memory corridors, you ask, "Which way, left or right?"

"Right."

You then turned right but he then shook his head, "No, I mean go left. I said left was right like correct."

"Of course." You mumbled as you went to the opposite way.

"This actually feels kind of nice." Mumbled Shadow as you looked at him, he was blushing again!

But you looked ahead and sighed, "Okay, here we go. We’ll be back to Headquarters before morning. We can do it. This will be easy! This is working!" You smiled as you continued on.
