[Avery's father and Rio in multimedia]
Sitting on the floor, Rio stared the wall in front of him as if somehow the answers to all his problems would just magically appear. It's been a couple of hours since that phone call he'd received and he still had no idea of what he was going to do. Royce means everything to him. He can't live in a world without her, so whether or not he's not getting her back wasn't up for debate. He'll die if it means making sure she's safe.
The fact that Avery was brought into this is this only reason Rio wasn't already on his way to wherever she was being held. He cared about Avery, and he doesn't want to do anything to hurt her. She's been through enough and he couldn't willingly put her in harms way. He could feel the anger rising within him him and knew he was only moment away from exploding.
Rio took a drink from the Hennessy bottle he held in his hand before forcefully throwing it at the wall, watching the bottle shatter into several pieces. He had to stay focused. Rio didn't want anything clouding his judgement right now.
His phone rang for what seemed to be the hundred-th time and he looked to see Avery's contact name flash across the screen. He couldn't help but to let out a sigh and run a hand down his face, debating on whether or not he should answer the call. She's been calling like clockwork but Rio couldn't bring himself to answer. He declined it, choosing to let the ringing stop on its own instead. Only moments later he received a text from her. Rio read the message over, noticing that she called him by his government.
Lil' Baby 😍😈: Reginald stop fuckin' playing with me 😤. I'm really worried about you and it's driving me crazy not knowing if you're ok 😩. Call me please.
Lil' Baby 😍😈: And if I find out you've seen all these calls and texts and you just being petty and ignoring me, believe me when I say we gonna have a problem.
He clicked on her name, prepared to call her when his phone started ringing again. This time instead of it being her it was the unknown number from earlier so he answered with no hesitation.
"Let me get my sister back." Rio spoke before hearing shuffling in the background. He could hear muffle cries that belonged to his sister and it was killing him.
"Nah, young blood. I think she's having fun with us. Ain't that right lil' lady?" There was some more movement in the background before Royce's cries become clearer than before.
"Rio, please come get me. They're going to hurt me." She yelled out. The fear in her voice brought tears to his eyes. Just the thought of her being scared and alone made him sick.
"Royce baby, I need you to listen to me. You have to stay strong. You're going to be okay. I'm not gonna let anybody hurt you, I promise." Rio said trying to mask his emotions.
"I love you Rio." She mumbled between sobs.
"Love you too."
"How sweet. Y'all must have a good relationship. It'd be a shame for that bond to be destroyed." The man stated with a dark chuckle.
"Why are you doing this to me?" Rio questioned, anger now laced through his voice.
"You already know the answer to that. I just want my baby girl back." Avery's father answered.
"You weren't saying that the last time I saw you." He snapped. "Nigga you faked your own death! You think she want to see you?"
"The last time I saw you.....listen here Rio I'm done playing games what's your decision?"
Rio remained silent. There was something there for Avery and like he said he can't hurt her. She's been through so much and he didn't want to be the reason why she falls back into the dark place she was in. It was clear that she had her dark days in the past and they weren't pretty. He had to think fast.
