[Rio in multimedia]
The sound of water coming from inside the bathroom indicated that Joey was taking a shower, giving Avery some time to think things out since she didn't do that before. To be quite honest, she didn't see the whole Sadria being her sister thing coming at her the way it did so that's one of the many things that's shocked her along the way.
Another would be that whole thing with Isaiah. She would've never seen herself putting an end to all the pain and misery he's caused so much people, he was practically untouchable.
What pained Avery was that he had knowledge of the hurt she was going through with all the traumatic events that occurred in her life and not once did he ever think that maybe telling her the truth would be the best thing. Then again, we're talking about Isaiah who probably all along had no heart.
"A man identified as Isaiah Malik Jones was found dead in his Austin, Texas home earlier this morning when a neighbor reported a horrible stench coming from his home. Officials say that the Thirty-Five-years-old man was beaten and stabbed to death. There are no suspects at the moment and family members of the victim are being contacted and there is an investigation happening from this point forward." While she was channel surfing the news managed to catch her attention...they worked fast.
The sudden vibration coming from her phone caused her to jump and bump into the counter in front of her as she winced at the pain in her abdomen. Avery pulled it out of her back pocket and looked at the name to see "FUCK HIM😡" on the screen and couldn't help but to roll her eyes, swiping the white dot on the screen to answer.
"What do you want?" Avery questioned. He's been very persistent with his calls and texts so the least she could do is hear him out.
"I heard about Isaiah..." He trailed off, probably not thinking he'd get this far.
The moment she heard Rio's voice, she slightly regretted her decision to answer. He sounded drained, both emotionally and physically and hearing him like that could aid in making her forgive him for the wrong he's done.
"And?"
"I'm sorry baby. I can admit that I fucked up. I realize I should've told you, but I can't go back and change what I did. I know you hurting right now and it's killing me that I can't be there for you."
He's told her he's sorry countless times, but for some reason this apology meant more to her. She'd been wanting to hear him acknowledge that he had done wrong.
"I'm fine." Avery lied.
He was starting to get to her, but she didn't want him to know that. The mix of emotions within her, stemming from everything she's gone through recently, has her confused on how to feel about Rio.
"No you're not." Unsurprisingly, he saw straight through her lie.
Avery began pacing around to release some anxiety. There was a brief moment of silence between them. He let out a sigh before deciding to break the silence.
"When we were at that diner in N.O. I told you that I was gonna tear down the wall you had built around you. I did that shit, but now you're pushing me away and it's not good for either of us... Let me back in Avery." Rio pleaded. She knew just how serious he was by the fact that he actually called her by her name.
"I'm in so much pain right now. I've lost everybody, my life has been turned upside down. I don't trust anybody walking this earth but Joey." Avery sniffled and wiped away tears that she hadn't even realized were falling.
"I can't even imagine how you feel. You going through it right now but it's going to be okay."
"No it's not Rio! The man who was supposed to protect me and love me unconditionally has ruined me. This man gave me life and took my brother's and no matter what I do, I can't get him back." She cried out.
