LIAM:  “This is nice, huh?  We never get to spend time together like this,” Liam’s mom beams happily as you mix together the ingredients for the cupcakes you’re making together.  “This is really nice,” you agree.  You and Liam’s mom have always liked each other and gotten along well, but you’d never actually taken the time to hang out one-on-one before.  “We should really do this more often - especially when Liam is away on tours and flying all over the place and things.  It would be nice to pass some of the time that he’s gone by doing things with you,” she mentions warm-heartedly.  “I’d love that,” you agree, smiling broadly.  “I think this is just about ready to go in the pan,” you say, pulling the cupcake tin closer to you so that the two of you can begin putting the batter in.  By the end, you two are laughing and joking as though you’d been close for years.  It couldn’t have been a more successful first bonding time with her if you’d wanted it to be.

HARRY:  “Why are you so nervous?  It’s just my mum; you’ve met her a thousand times before,” Harry mocks as he drives you two to her house.  “Yeah, but I’ve never spent any alone time with her.  I’m just anxious about spending the afternoon shopping with her.”  “Why?” Harry asks on a laugh.  “Because your mom’s a MILF and I’m just…not.”  Harry bursts out in laughter, stealing a glance at you out of the corner of his eye.  “First of all, I never want you or anyone else to use ‘MILF’ in a sentence about my mum.  Second of all, you’re sexy, babe, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”  “Thanks,” you mutter, not agreeing with him at the moment.  You manage to stay calm until you actually get into the car with his mom.  That’s when she asks, “Are you ok?  You seem tense.”  “Yeah, I’m fine.  Just a little nervous,” you admit sheepishly.  “What is there to be nervous about?” she inquires kindly.  “I dunno…I guess I’m just worried that I’ll say or do something wrong that will make you dislike me or something.”  “Oh, sweetie, I love you!  I think you’re a great girl for Harry.  That’s why I want to spend time together; so I can get to know you better.  You’ve already won me over, dear, so no worries,” she assures you with a warm smile.

NIALL:  “Niall is going to love this, [Y/N],” his mother praises you as she drapes streamers over the banister in the living room.  “I hope so.  And thanks again for helping me out.  I really appreciate all you’ve done to help me throw this together,” you tell her for the hundredth time in the last hour.  Two days ago, you’d decided to throw a welcome home party for Niall since he hadn’t seen his family or friends from home in a few months.  It had been stressful trying to get everything put together in such short notice, but thanks to his mom, you two had managed to pull it off.  “No need to thank me.  I’m more than happy to do it.  And it’s been nice spending some time with you and really getting a chance to get to know you.  I know you and Niall haven’t been together for terribly long, but I can tell just by the way he talks about you that you’re something special,” she brings up, her eyes twinkling proudly.  You can’t hide the wide smile that spreads across your own face as you reach for the balloons and begin filling them with helium.  “Thanks for letting me help you out,” she speaks after a few moments.  Taken by surprise that she would be thanking you, you reply with a simple smile that says it all.

LOUIS:  Louis’ mom enters the room carrying a tray of tea and some cookies, setting it down on the coffee table.  “How’s it going?  Find any good ones yet?” she questions, taking a seat next to you on the couch and picking up a photo album.  “Yeah I did! You have some great pictures of him,” you compliment, flipping to the next page.  “He was an interesting child, that’s for sure,” she kids.  “Thanks again for letting me come over and do this today.  Planning this wedding has been so stressful, especially with Louis’ schedule being as crazy as it is.  You’ve been such a big help.”  “Of course!  I’m having a great time helping you out.  And this idea you had for the photo montage of pictures of you and Louis growing up is brilliant!”  “Thanks.  I’d seen it done before and just thought it might be a nice touch.”  “You should come over here again tomorrow and I can help you put it together…if you want.”  “Yeah?  You wouldn’t mind?”  “Of course not.  This afternoon has been fun, just the two of us,” she assures you, patting your knee.  You smile.  ”Yeah, I’ll come back over tomorrow.  That would be great.”  She returns your smile and the two of you turn back to flipping through the photo albums.

ZAYN:  Frantic, you turn to your last resort and call your mother-in-law at 2:00 in the morning.  “I’m so sorry!” you apologize profusely as soon as she gets to the house.  “Not to worry about a thing, honey!  I know how hard this can be, especially when you’re doing it on your own.  Let me have him,” she instructs, peeling a screaming Lane from your arms.  Things had been manageable for the first week, until Zayn had to leave the country for a few days of promo.  You thought you’d be able to handle things just fine on your own - after all, it would only be for three days - but that first night proves to be more difficult than you’d thought.  “Go get some sleep.  Grandma’s here,” his mom tells you through a smile.  “I love you,” you tell her before shuffling off to bed.  “I love you too,” she replies.  The next morning when you wake up, she’s already in the kitchen making some coffee.  “I feel like such a bad mom after last night,” you admit, taking a seat at the table.  “You shouldn’t.  You shouldn’t feel that way at all.  In fact, I’m really flattered that you feel comfortable enough to call me.  I know we haven’t spent much one-on-one time together before…”  “Well, now’s our chance!  I’m treating you to lunch this afternoon,” you tell her gratefully, leaving no room for her to decline.
