He led me around the institution to a tiny door, he reaches for the knob but stops suddenly and turns to me. "Promise not to tell anyone?" he asks quickly. I nod impatiently, curious of what was behind the door. He smiles brightly before twisting the knob and opening the little door. "This way, hurry up." he whispers before taking my hand and pulling me threw the door. My heart stops as I look around in awe and excitement. The first thing my eyes landed on was the huge fountain in the middle of the garden. It was shaped into a mermaid resting on a rock. Water spewed from her opened mouth (which kinda freaked me out ngl). The fountain was surrounded by a variety of flowers of all different colors.
I was in a deep trance when I heard Josh call my name.He was sat on a tiny silver bench that looked hella unstable, but I smiled and sat down next to him. "Peaceful, isn't it?" he asked with slight smirk. I nod slightly before realizing that I have no idea where I am. "Um where are we?" I ask while watching him from the corner of my eye. He smiles brightly before grabbing my hand and leading me under a large droopy tree. I wait for an answer quietly before I ask again. He smiles again before giving me a simple two worded answer. "Tyler's garden." My eyebrows furrow in confusion, "Tyler?" he turns and gives me a small smile. "Yeah, Tyler." he says as his voice saddens "We used to come here before he got moved. It was his favorite place to write in." his breath hitches and I see a tear fall slowly from his eye. "I miss him a lot, sometimes too much for my own good." he says quietly while leaning back against the tree. I sit in silence trying to think of a way to make him feel better. I decide on small pat on the back, when he suddenly turns (eyes full of tears) and grabs my hand. "Never leave. Okay? Don't go away like Tyler."
My breath catches in my throat as I feel the warmth of his hand wrap around my own. I force a smile and squeeze his hand. "I won't leave, I promise." I say quietly hoping to make him feel better if I agreed. He smiles brightly and let's out a soft sigh. And that's how we stay, hand in hand in complete silence.
~Skipping ahead a few hours later~I couldn't think about anything other than Josh and the way his hand felt in mine. His bright smile and the way his eyes curled up when he smiled. The way he ran his hand through his hair when he was thinking hard. The way he made feel as if I were important, needed, wanted. I turn in my tiny bed blushing slightly as my mind drifted to a world where it was just Josh and I, I smile a bit before frowning and shaking the thought away. Ryan you're not gay, stop it. I scowl slightly remembering the names people used to call me. I cringe at the memory and sit in the quiet darkness before falling into a deep sleep..
