A little more time than was strictly necessary passed before Leviathan thought it might be appropriate to hand me his white suit jacket. When I didn't respond to the outstretched offer he moved behind me to gently place the soft fabric around my pale shoulders. My teeth chattered uncontrollably and I stared straight forward through closed eyes, unable to unlock my muscles.
Asmodeus stooped down to me and tenderly scooped me the final way up out of the floor whilst Leviathan simply gazed at me incredulously from the other side of the dip I had been sat in.
As soon as my body had broken contact with the rock it splashed and bounded back to its original shape, flat and smooth and perfect in my absence.
Numbly I leant my head against Asmodeus's warm chest. Sensations were weird again, extremely weird. I had been in the rock for four whole days this time, and to say that I was experiencing a mental overload was an understatement. Asmodeus trailed a feather light touch across my cheek and jumped back in surprise as my eyes fluttered open.
"Allie..." he could barely speak. "Allie your eyes, they're..."
I heard Leviathan physically gasp as he looked over Asmodeus's shoulder, he stood up so straight it looked like someone had shoved a pole up his ass.
"Wh-wha-t?" I managed to stutter out. I frowned at the sound of my voice, my throat was as foreign to me as my lungs had felt the first time I used them.
"Beautiful." Leviathan whispered under his breath, but I could hear it as loud as if he'd spoken right into my ear.
I moved my hand up to my face and it flickered so fast up to me that it made me jump. My eyes widened in fear and I shut them quickly.
I'm dreaming or hallucinating or oh my god what is happening? My breathing became rapid and shallow. I was on the verge of a majorly freaking out.
"Shh, shh shh." Asmodeus soothed me, pulling me tighter to his chest and stroking my jet black hair. He began humming softly, a tune that sounded older than the earth itself filled my ears and I couldn't help but feel that I had heard it somewhere before. The warmth of his voice trickled through my conscience, wrapping itself around my problems and making them disappear. And ever so slowly I melted into a half-dream so comforting that I never wanted to wake from it.
"Before you ask me Leviathan, no I do not know what she is, or why she changed. All I know for certain that she was a child of demon and human. A half-blood of human mother and Saith father, though how that is even possible is its own mystery."
"I'd wager that she is no longer even a half-blood." Leviathan replied, for once he seemed to be at as much of a loss as Asmodeus. "Could she hold so much power over the rock previously to this?" he asked quietly, not wanting to disturb me.
"She had a great range over what she could do, she could even command the fixed layer. Her powers were astonishing, but rough and messy, muddied by her human blood."
Both thought silently. "You say that the rock would heal her wounds, and could only be triggered by her blood?" Leviathan spoke. Asmodeus nodded.
"It was as though she had never been hurt at all, in fact what was repaired was stronger than what it had replaced, and infused with an energy that was not at all human."
"Is it possible, that in the process of healing the rock removed any damaged or weaker tissue and replaced it with itself? It would explain how she still has demon blood, but no longer possesses anything human."
"It would also explain the colouration of her eyes." Asmodeus spoke. " Her wounds were very severe. It wouldn't surprise me if the rock has taken every single drop of blood from her body and filtered the human from it. Replacing what it needed to with its own energy and filtering the Saith blood to absolute purity in the process. Her force is stronger than any I have ever felt Levi, the power is indescribable and she has absolutely no idea."
"We are in agreement then, that she is definitely not human."
Asmodeus nodded firmly, eyes still glued to my sleeping face.
"And that the dinner arrangements must be brought forward immediately," Leviathan continued. "Father will not believe this."
