~Hell~
The sound of something falling so fast that the air split in two boomed and shuddered overhead. The intensity of the noise jolted the ground and made me lose my footing, slipping into the waves of rock that frothed around me I was plunged instantly into darkness.
The surprised howl of the Devil cut like a knife into the protective layers that held me, dragging me back to my senses with a shuddering jolt as the grip of the shadows on my body finally loosened and my eyes opened under the waves. A strange light had filtered into the normally absolute blackness. It danced and fizzed between the particles like the static on a T.V, never staying still for even a second but growing steadily brighter until it stung my eyes and forced them shut again. The boom had been instantly exchanged with a high pitched noise that was so loud it cut out any thought or sense. The comfortable dark and quiet of the rock had been replaced by an entirely alien liquid that stunned me like the after effects of a mine exploding.
Something impacted the ground with such sudden ferocity and force that the rippling wave of power tore up the shiny black rock of the arena and flung it and the demons stood on it for miles out on every side. The liquid rock that surrounded me trembled and gushed in an underwater whirlpool that whipped my hair across my face and spun me until I had no idea which way was up and which way was down and left my head pounding under the pressure.
And just like that it was still.
The noise and light had carved out such a crater that the silence and darkness that rushed to fill it was indescribable, it felt like the whole world had stopped turning. A high pitched ringing blared in my ears and I could feel my heart pounding inside my chest.
I couldn't have been under the rock for more than a few seconds but it seemed like forever when I finally managed to crawl out of it to see what the hell had happened.
The ground above was almost unrecognisable; the polished battlefield was now torn up and shattered to the extreme. Black spires of rock towered up like jagged teeth in the broken jaw of some enormous dog and cracks crisscrossed its once flawless surface like a tangled spider's web. I quickly scanned around for the Devil who until a few minutes ago was sure to have killed me but I was alone, there was no one in this fragmented landscape but me.
I hopped and jumped over the serrated rocks before commanding a wave of it to carry me seamlessly across the landscape, searching for the source of all this destruction. The rock behind my wave settled flawlessly back into its previously unmarked state, carving a wide smooth path as I went.
It wasn't long before I found what I was looking for: a giant crater.
I don't envy whatever's at the bottom of that... if it isn't a meteor or dead I bet it wishes it was. My inner me commented.
"For once we can agree on something..." I mumbled aloud as I reached the edge. Peering over my jaw dropped. "Oh my god." My voice was barely a whisper now.
"Do you believe in coincidences?" A strangely beautiful man smiled weakly before his astonishingly blue eyes fluttered shut and his head slumped forwards. His honey blond curls trembled slightly with each unconscious breath.

"When'd you say he was going to wake up?" my voice betrayed my impatience as I leant forward on the footer of the large oak bed frame, drumming my fingers rhythmically on the wood as I stared at the unconscious man I had demanded stay in my bed so I could keep watch over him. Not in a creepy way, just you know, out of curiosity.
"It's hard to say really." It was Belphegor's turn to watch over me watching over the strange fallen man, and he answered my question just as calmly as he had when I asked it the first time even though I was vaguely aware it was more like the seventh.
"Ok." I said, sighing a little as I began to pace again. I had always been about as good at waiting as I was at keeping my mouth shut.
"You know..." Belphegor said after a pause. "Contrary to popular belief, pacing doesn't actually speed up time, it would pass just as quickly if you were to sit down." he nodded pointedly to the chair opposite him before returning his gaze to me. I stopped walking and looked back at him but made no move for the chair.
"Sorry you have to babysit me." I said genuinely as I observed the demon who, leant casually back in his chair with a book open on his lap, looked about as demon-like as a teddy bear.
"I'm not." He said with a lopsided half-smile that made my chest tingle. I huffed again, brushing off the feeling before continuing my pacing.
"Ughhhh..." I grumbled twenty steps later before walking over to the chair and flopping into it backwards with as much grace as a sack of potatoes. "Ok what was your plan then?" I asked finally as I swivelled the right way around and met Belphegor's amused cherry-red gaze.
"Plan?" he questioned.
"You mean you didn't have any plan for when I got to the chair, you were literally suggesting that time would go faster if I just sat?" I asked incredulously, becoming exasperated both with being under house arrest after the fight with the Devil and with the fact that the man in my bed had been unconscious for two whole days now and I had too many unanswered questions.
"Well what would you suggest?" a smirk danced around the corners of his lips as my eyes narrowed.
"Not that." I emphasized as I rolled my eyes. "Well, maybe actually, I am pretty horny."
His usually heavy eyes snapped open and his lips parted slightly in shock at my words. I couldn't hold the laughter at his expression in any longer and ended up falling off of my chair and rolling on the plush carpet gasping for breath for a while before I calmed down. He scowled down at me in mock disapproval but I could tell he found it funny too.
"You ought to be careful saying things like that you know, I don't think Asmodeus would've been able to let a comment like that go."
"Good job you're not Asmodeus then isn't it?"
Or is it? My inner me chimed in, gaining a subtle eyebrow raise from Belphegor. Before he could formulate a reply he was interrupted by a quiet groan from the four poster bed. I shot up and was by it in seconds, standing over the strange man who had been lying in my bed for the past two days. His eyelids fluttered open to reveal eyes of such a shocking blue that they took my breath away, and as I stared into them, he stared right back. If he was at all surprised by his surroundings he didn't show it, if anything the way he looked at me suggested that he would have been shocked if anyone other than a demon with one black eye and one red was stood over him when he woke up. And the pearly white smile that shone from his perfect features assured me that even if I had no idea who he was, he knew exactly who I was.
"Nice to finally meet you Allie." He said as he looked at me the way you would an old friend.
"Likewise." I said.
