:10: Adrian, Karianna, and Cameron
I flutter my eyes open quickly to more black and I start to panic. Have I gone blind? I think to myself. But as more time passes I notice my vision is just fine, only that it’s just dark outside. Was I really out that long? I think to myself. Did the whole day pass and we got nothing accomplished? All because of me!
“It all seems so simple.” I hear Camic say to someone and soon as I look clear enough, I notice Belle across from me lying down with Jess by her side.
“What?” I ask dizzily and confused at the same time. I didn’t even know I had said anything, but of course my brain isn’t really working right, right now.
“Carnate!” I hear Camic excite, as I realize I’ve been lying in his lap this whole time. I look up to him and rest my head back on his chest.
“What were you talking about?” I ask, trying to get my mind on something else other than the aches in my body.
“That’s not important, you’re awake now.” Camic says brushing through my hair. I push away his hand and pry myself to sit up. Every bone in my body feels raw and sore, but I try not to show it.
We seem to be surrounded by bushes, because that’s all my eyes can see, other than the one tree enclosing the circle we sit in. Belle and Jess lie down across from Camic and I with blankets sprawled across them; just like I had seen before, while Camic leans up against the tree, me in between his legs with blankets covering me.
“What were you talking about?” I ask again, but this time to Belle.
“Just Camic’s plan…you know the one in which you cut him off before he could finish his full sentence.” I let out a weird noise in my throat, but let Belle go along. “Well he wants to use the plan Jess made, but make some changes. Instead of just throwing something into the woods, we need to make noise; so that they think someone is actually over there. We would all crawl through the tall grass until we met up with those large trees over there.” Belle points behind her, where I can faintly see through the darkness four large tall trees standing.
“They would hide us while Jess and Camic call the Guards down. The Guards of course won’t know where we are since we are hiding, so they will look for us. While they are looking we will crawl through the tall grass and cut a hole through the bottom of the fence with a knife Camic brought along, escaping while they are searching for us.” she finishes and I let my mouth drop open. I couldn’t speak, move or do anything! I was in shock, pure shock! If I had just listened to Camic, I wouldn’t be hurt and we would most likely be out of this town by now!
“Oh…I’m sorry I cut you off. And I’m sorry for falling.” I say quietly, almost in the voice of a whisper. When I think over my words I kind of regret saying the last part. How can I apologize for getting hurt?
“It’ nothing to worry about, I’m just glad you’re okay now.” he says, kissing my neck again. I slightly smile, though I know he can’t see and I watch as Belle rolls her eyes.
“Love…” she mutters quietly to herself as she wraps herself tighter in the blankets. I think about what she had said for a while…love. Do I actually love Camic? I don’t know if the term love is accepted in my case, maybe the word like or possibly affection, but not love. It actually sounds like a foreign word to me and I don’t know if my vocabulary goes over the pronunciation.
“Go back to sleep.” I hear Camic whisper to me, as his arms wrap back around my stomach. I tense up for a second, but let it go once I realize who’s holding me. I lean back into him, but turn sideways so his hands wrap around my waist. I rest my hands on his chest and fall back asleep without a hesitation.
