Levi Ackerman
"You burned two of our warehouses when you were eleven."
"I dropped the match by accident."
"You took one of my best men's eyesight when you were fifteen!"
"He was too close to my face. If he would have taken heed to my first warning, I would have only taken one eye."
"You took a bat to my most expensive car at seventeen."
"Maybe you took your car to my bat."
This has been going on for an hour now, my uncle and Saichi going back and forth. Kenny is a very tall and slim man who is well-built. He has short, coarse dark hair that has reached to his neck and also has a thin beard along his jawline. He is a middle-aged man with wrinkles around his eyes, which are small and piercing. He is wearing a simple white shirt with a black tie that is not fully done up, and a large black overcoat that reaches past his knees.
Back then, he was almost the key to my past. He's my mother's brother. Everything I knew, he taught me. Kenny's main goal was always to obtain power, and his personality was molded around that goal. As such, he was a ruthless individual who did not hesitate to do anything to get a job done, including murdering children or betraying and murdering allies. He was a true monster.
Now, he is more like that annoying father that I can say I appreciate. When I had no one, I did have Kenny. He might be the leader of a yakuza clan but he takes family very seriously. Right now, he refuses to make an alliance until Saichi apologizes for all she's done in the past. I can tell by her responses to his complaints that she has no intentions of doing that.
Lance has been listening to the two argue and has not interjected once. He's been sipping the tea I served him and occasionally checking his phone. Based on what Takahiro has told me, he usually allows Saichi to handle things like this. He knows she's smart and can tell when not to trust someone by instinct. As for my uncle, he's fed up. "You have a lot to say, like that stupid animal of yours."
"Aki?" I ask.
"He means Maki," Saichi replies.
"Maki?" I look at my uncle. "He barely says five words in a week."
Saichi shrugs her shoulders and heads toward the kitchen. "He's, like, a well-known douchebag." That, I can believe. This obviously isn't going to be settled now. If you allow, the two will go back and forth all night. Saichi has always been stubborn and quick with her remarks and my uncle refuses to lose. "Besides, what does this crap have anything to do with that bounty you have been trying to tell me about?"
Lance nods his head. "The Ackerman clan is known for their arson supplies. It can come in handy. I'm trying to protect you."
"Bull. What are your true intentions here?"
Lance is ready to answer but the door opens and Saichi's entire body language changes. There's only one other person that can enter without knocking or ringing the bell. It must mean Takahiro is back. Saichi isn't one bit happy as he comes through the entrance with his luggage rolling behind him and dIMITRIUS with him. What I immediately notice is a sleeping child in Takahiro's left arm. Saichi moves from the kitchen and stands in Takahiro's way. "Explain the child."
Dimitrius holds out a piece of paper, a birth certificate. Takahiro sighs. "We found him by a dumpster. Based on that, he's only three."
Saichi looks up, eyes widened. "He's..." A single tear stream down her cheek. "Eren..."
I leave the couch to have a closer look. The brown hair, the soft skin. It has to be him. Sure enough, his name is on the paper. Eren Yeager. Both parents', Carla and Grisha Yeager, signatures are at the bottom. Eren begins to stir, slowly waking up. He holds his head up and looks around. His eyes are a golden color, much different than before when he was a soldier.
He lays his small eyes on Saichi and perks up. He reaches out to her. Takahiro has to hold him by the stomach just so he doesn't hit the floor. "Captain!"
Saichi gasps and drops the paper, taking him into her arms. She holds him tightly as he laughs. I have never seen her this way. She's happy, on the verge of tears. "Eren..."
Saichi Yamazaki
I have no idea how to react to this. Takahiro came home with an abandoned child that happens to be Eren and I've discovered that Eren has memories of his past. He refers to me as 'Captain', reminding me of how he would never call me 'Commander', even after I took Erwin's place. It makes me worry that he also has the memories that pain him. I guess that is something for me to worry about at a later time.
It's hard to believe that Grisha and Carla abandoned their son. Grisha is the founder of a hospital in Tokyo and Carla works in a floral shop. I could contact them if need be but I have no intentions of giving Eren back. Anyone that throws away their child like they did, doesn't deserve the time of day. I can never forgive them for this.
I let him sleep in the middle of my bed until I can purchase a smaller one for him. Maki and Aki are on either side of him so he doesn't roll anywhere. I go down into the living room where Takahiro and Levi are waiting. Dimitrius took my father and Lance home. I've had enough of both of them for the rest of the week.
I throw myself on the couch and let out an exhausted sigh. "What are you going to do now?" Levi asks.
"The hell if I know." I glare at Takahiro. He has a lot of explaining to do. "Why did you go to Russia?"
"I told you before I left."
"You lied."
He sighs and gestures to Levi. "I did some more digging on him."
"Why?"
"I was only looking out for you."
"That makes you an idiot! What if he was dangerous? The only man my father told to protect me left me with a potentially dangerous man. How much of an idiot are you?!" I grit my teeth. "For the first time out of all the years we've been with each other, you've given me a reason not to trust you. I don't even know what to think anymore! I've never felt like this about you!"
