Chapter Five
In her last days of life, he was there.
He talked to her about everything, he talked to her like she could hear every drip of word he yearned to say. He kissed her, hoping that she would wake like sleeping beauty.
Every second he was there. Not once you would see him not talking to her or holding her hand as if anything would change.
Not once did you see her open her stormy grey eyes.
He sat next to her, as everyone else went on with their lives like nothing had happened.
Her tan skin was now replaced with as sickly pale color that made you gag a little but it didn't matter to him how she looked because he just wanted her to open her eyes.
Yes it broke him to a million pieces, but he kept to himself.
Just sat there holding her hand, but no tear.
"I don't know what to do. The sun needs you. The stars needs you..Everyone needs you. And I need you to see the light in me because I need you, Wise Girl."
Everyday he would softly whisper those words in her ear like a lullaby, their lullaby.
Percy Jackson.
Annabeth Chase.
He couldn't think straight for a second, his mind wandered into the darkness. She was the only one saving him from the monsters that whispered to him.
Especially when he got tired.
His eyes showed the years of fighting, the memories were stored in his experienced sea-green eyes. But they looked down upon the world like he wasn't worth living, he was giving up.
This was not him.
"Percy please eat something." His best friend pleaded, fiddling with the helm of his Camp Half blood shirt.
"I'm not hungry." Was always his reply.
"But..."Grover, sighing heavily, laid a hand on the demigod's shoulder.
"I said I'm not hungry." Percy shrugged off his sympathy while closing his eyes and clutching his fists.
"Go ahead I deserve it." Grover whispered towards him and he opened his infamous eyes, lips wobbling as if he tried to stop and say something wrong.
Do it...
He whispered.
Grover closed his eyes tightly, waiting for the impact to come towards his face, but nothing happened.
Instead, he felt a pair of muscular arms around him.
Percy hugged him tightly, giving in finally.
After all the time, he finally let his emotions out towards the only person who was there since day on (not counting Sally).
His tears fell down like a waterfall.
It seemed the more he cried, the more memories flashed into his mind sending a numb vibe to him.
"I'm tired, G man."
"I am too."
Complete silence.
