With midterm looming up ahead of them, weekend dates were becoming rare and few in between for Kongpob and Arthit. Between midterms, projects and Kongpob's involvement in the committee, it was lucky enough that he'd get a Saturday free.

"I thought the committee meeting got pushed to this morning?" Arthit remarked as they settled down in a booth at the noodle restaurant the older male had brought them to during their first (sort-of) 'date' two years ago.

Kongpob handed his boyfriend the menu, "I changed it to Monday instead, P'. Half the group couldn't make it, so there's no point. Besides, I need to make time for my boyfriend too."

Cheeky bastard.

"Pfft. Whatever. But did you really have to call me so early in the morning?!"

"I don't think 10.30am is considered early, P'." Kongpob answered with a laugh, calling the waitress over since they're ready to order.

Considering the lack of a crowd, their noodles came fairly quickly. Kongpob handed Arthit a pair of chopsticks and took a pair for himself, giving his steaming seafood noodles a good stir.

"Here. Try this, P'Arthit." Kongpob picked up a piece of prawn between his chopsticks and blew on it a little before holding it out towards his boyfriend.

Arthit took a bite and chewed thoughtfully, "Definitely better than those bland rice noodles you like so much."

In between bites of their food, Arthit asked, as casually as he could:

"Kongpob...do you think of the future? Like...what or where do you want to be after graduation?"

"Occasionally, yes." Kongpob took a sip of his iced water. "Why, P'?"

"Nothing. They were talking about it in the lecture a week ago. With graduation coming up and everything." Arthit set his chopticks down. "What do you see in yours?"

Kongpob replied without missing a beat, "You."

Arthit nudged the tip of his sneaker against his boyfriend's ankle under the table, "I'm serious."

"What makes you think I'm not, P'? What's a future without you in it?" He leaned forward with a teasing smile gracing his lips. "Do you think I'm going to forget you once you graduate?"

Arthit threw his gaze out of the window, a fluttery buzzing feeling in the pit of his stomach. Kongpob knew all the right words to say to make him feel as if he was falling in love all over again.

"That's what you say now. You'll probably find someone else to bother when I'm not around." He joked, crossing his arms on the table. "And take him as a 'wife' or something."

Silence.

Arthit dragged his gaze over to Kongpob, and the younger male had a weird expression on his face. He looked oddly serious and perhaps slightly hurt at that moment.

"Do you really think I'm like that, P'Arthit?" Kongpob asked softly.

Shit. Arthit's stomach sank at the hurt-laced tone. He had honestly meant it as a joke. Shit, why did he always speak without thinking?!
