Grady and Edaline Bet On My Love-Life

Sophie 's POV

     "Bye Keefe!" I yell as Keefe glitters away. I turn around to see a smirking Grady and Edaline. 

     "What?" I ask, knowing something's up. Probably something I don't want to hear, in that case.

     Edaline's smirk falters and looks more like a frown as she says "You made me lose a bet." All the while Grady's to the left beaming. 

     "And I won." Grady adds. 

     "How'd I make you... what bet?" I ask, confused. 

     "Well," sighs Edaline as she starts to explain, "Grady and I had a bet. I said you would marry Keefe after- way after- you got your match making scroll. Grady said you would marry him in the first year."

     My face goes beet red. "I- what- we're not- it was just a kiss!" 

     Then Grady chimes in with, "Just a kiss, his confession - and yours -  of his love, and him asking when you were to be getting your match making scroll."

     "You're obviously going to marry him." Edaline says. 

     "But... You hate Keefe!" I direct towards Grady. 

     "I don't hate him. I'm just a protective father. You obviously loved him, and I didn't want you getting hurt." 

     "Fine." I say, annoyed. "But what was up with the bet? What was on the line?"

     "That reminds me!" Exclaims a joyous Grady, "Edaline, I want ten pieces of mallowmelt please." He says smugly. Edaline looks disappointed, with both Grady and me.

     "I now have to make him mallowmelt whenever he wants. For the whole year." Edaline sighs.

     "Oooh." I say. "But... we're not married yet. Doesn't  that have to count?" 

     "I wouldn't be so sure about that." Says Grady looking behind me. 

     I turn around to see a very well dressed Keefe. 

     "Before match making." I hear Grady mumble.

     "Sophie Foster," starts Keefe, getting down on one knee, "will you marry me?"
