Keefe's POV

"Keefe you can't-"

"Oh, but I can."

Here we were, trapped in some stupid room, courtesy of the Neverseen, and we were trying to get out. My plan was going to have me mimic Fintan loud enough, like he was in another room, telling the rest of the Neverseen that we were to be released.

Our plan was obviously very flawed.

We had to hope that Fintan was still in the building, but not with the rest of them. We had to hope that nobody knew I could mimic. We had to hope that they were all dumb enough to fall for it.

"Keefe, don't." Foster says. I turn to look at her, and I see the concern and worry in her eyes.

"It's our only chance." I reply, knowing that no matter what, I'd probably not make it out alive.

Two weeks ago after another - uh - incident, we were warned that if we try anything else, we'd die much quicker than they had planned.

But this was the only way to get Foster out alive, even if I didn't have the chance to see her live.

Foster meant more to me than anything else in the world. She meant more than my own life.

"Keefe, let me." She begs, tears streaming down her face.

"You're not good enough at mimicking." It was true. She hadn't got much better, and we couldn't afford any mistakes.

"But I don't want to lose you Keefe!" She yells in frustration. I look over.

"Sophie I value your life more than my own. I can't let you die." Then I add the last part in a barely audible tone, "Because I love you."

I couldn't hear what she said next, because all I could hear was the blood rushing in my ears, as I leaned over and kissed her.

"Keefe." She says, as I pull away, "I love you too."

Right as she says the last words, the door swings open, and we see all of the Black Swan outside.

"Ready to fight some Neverseen?" Fitz asks.

Sophie and I turn to each other and say, in unison, "Let's go kick some Neverseen butt!"
