'I'm so sorry Zack,' I whispered, leaning forward slightly and placing my hand on his knee. He nodded weakly, leaning his head against the wall and looking to his right, gazing off into thin air. His eyes were still filled with tears, even though his little breakdown had been several hours ago now.

'Please Zacky, I'm sorry!' I half-whined, crawling onto my knees and leaning even closer to him. I placed a finger under his chin and pulled his face level with mine, his teary eyes meeting with mine. His lower lip trembled as we continued to gaze at each other, and eventually yet more tears were running down his face.

'No, Zack, no,' I whispered, pulling him closer and holding him as close to my chest as I could. 'Don't cry, please.'

'I want to go home,' he said again, managing to pry his head away from my neck and look up at me. 'Please, just let me go home.' I sighed, closing my eyes and pushing his head back into my neck.

'I might as well say it Zack, I can't do that.' He whimpered, cowering even further into me and his fists balled up around my tshirt as he cried even harder. I pressed my lips to his forehead, rocking him back and forth again. 'I'm so sorry,' I said again, my lips moving slolwy across the mass of fluffy raven hair beneath my face.

'Then can you do something for me?' He looked up and his eyes were filled with both bravery, and sorrow. I nodded slowly. 'When you kill me, can you find my girlfriend? Tell her that I loved her.'

I pulled away from him, staring at him incredulously.

'You... You think I'm going to... Kill you?' I whispered, my lip trembling. Zacky nodded.

'I know you will.'

'No, no, Zacky, I would never, Jesus Christ.' I pulled him as close as I could, closing my eyes against his hair as irrational and involuntary tears brimmed around my eyes. 'Don't ever say that again, don't you ever say that again. I wouldn't ever do it, okay? Never.'

I felt Zacky nod against my chest, and then a small, vulnerable mewl passed through his lips. 'C-Can I ask a favour? P-Please?' He didn't look at me as he spoke, but I knew that he badly wanted what he was about to ask for.

'Anything, angel,' I murmured, my hands tracing simple patterns up and down his back.

'Can you sleep in here with me tonight?' He raised his head from my chest as my eyes widened at his request.

'You... want me to sleep here? With you?' I asked slowly, raising an eyebrow. He nodded feebly, wiping the corners of his eyes.

'You don't have to sleep, I just want you to stay with me. I don't want to be alone, I th-think too m-much,' he mumbled, tripping over his words as he started to cry once more. I nodded, smiling softly and embracing him once again.

'Promise you won't make a run for it?' I whispered, already trusting him completely but needing his word. Zacky's hand gently brushed against mine, and he nodded.

'I promise.'
