A New Day [Hamilton AU]

Chapter 15

*Eliza POV*

After everyone sat down at the table and we were all together, I decided to tell them about Aaron.

"So um, guys?" I said hesitantly.

Everyone stopped talking and stared at me. James looked at me and nodded.

"Aaron is in the hospital because he fell into the Hudson last night. James and I were with him when it happened. We took him to the hospital and he should be released today."

Everyone looked really shocked, especially Alex.

"Well, we are going to visit him once classes are over." John called out. Alex nodded in agreement.

"Is he alright?" Peggy questioned with concern.

"He should be okay. They said he only had a concussion and that they wanted to keep him overnight just in case he had any internal bleeding or hemorrhaging. He should be released tomorrow if everything is well." Angie responded.

"We should all go visit him or be with him when he gets out." Maria said.

"What happened last night? How did he fall in?" Alex interrogated, furrowing his eyebrows.

"We were walking in the park and we got close to where the railing started by the Hudson. There was a flock of birds and as we got closer, a bunch of them flew up at the same time and slammed into Aaron, pushing him back. He tripped over the railing and fell in. Eliza jumped in and basically saved him," James said, smiling at me when he said that last part.

No one said much except for "oh my god" or "I hope he's alright". We all planned to visit him after our classes had ended.

*Alex POV*

John and I were supposed to have our first date tonight, but we agreed we would check up on Aaron before we left.

As soon as I got back in my room I began typing up an essay for class. John layed on his bed texting someone. I could tell he was texting because every few minutes he would giggle and his fingers would start typing aggressively. His laugh is so cute that every time I hear it, I get this feeling of complete joy in my heart.

An hour had passed and by the time I finished the essay, John wasn't on his bed anymore. I hadn't noticed he had gotten up and left the room.

I stood up and walked into the living room and found John asleep on the couch. Awww. I checked the time; it was around 3:30pm and we didn't have to leave until around 4pm. I let John sleep for a little longer so I went back into the bedroom and I started writing. Nothing specific, I just wrote stuff down.

When it was time to go, I tried to wake John up by sitting in front of him, staring at him, and whispering random stuff. This boy could sleep through a tornado, but if anything is said about turtles he's up faster than someone who realized they overslept and are late for something. He still didn't wake up after five minutes of me doing so, so I stood up and just lied down on top of him. He pushed me off of him and I giggled.

"What are you doing?" He asked, sitting up on the couch.

"Waking you up so we can go visit Aaron and then go out".

"Oh right". We both laughed.

We both got dressed and headed for the hospital. We sat in the room and talked to Aaron for about an hour and then decided to leave and get something to eat quick. After we ate, we headed for the aquarium. It was going to be a surprise for John.

"Where are we going?" He asked.

"I'm not telling you until we get there". I shot back.

"Alex come on, where are you taking me?" He demanded

"Nope. Not telling you" I teased.

We arrived at the aquarium and we walked around for a while looking at the cool fish and other marine life. Everything was going fine until John saw an exhibit where you could pick up little painted turtles. He got so excited and raced towards them. I smiled as he picked up a turtle and began dancing around with it.

I turned around for a second to see what else was around and when I turned back towards John, he was sitting in the turtle tank, drenched in water.

I tried not to laugh and ran over to him to help him out of the water. His face turned bright red and he looked like he was about to cry so I took him home.

We walked back into our dorm and he ran straight into the bathroom. I could hear him choke out a few sobs. I feel so bad. This is my fault. If we hadn't have gone to the aquarium he wouldn't have fallen in.

I grabbed him new clothes and knocked on the bathroom door.

"John?"

He sniffled and then came out of the bathroom.

"I'm sorry" I said as I handed him clean clothes.

"Why are you sorry?" He questioned.

"Its my fault you fell in. If I hadn't gotten the stupid idea to take you to the aquarium you would have never fallen in and gotten embarrassed" I looked down in shame.

"Its not your fault! Its my own fault for prancing around. Don't blame yourself, you did nothing wrong". He exclaimed.

"I'm going to take a shower now," He said as he grabbed my arm and pulled me into a kiss, and then turned around towards the bathroom.

I stood there frozen. He kissed me. OH MY GOD HE KISSED ME!!!

I smiled and then suddenly John screamed and there was a loud thud in the bathroom. He quickly opened the door and looked at me. We both looked at each other and smiled. Suddenly Hercules bust through the door, out of breath.

"I HEARD SCREAMING IS EVERYTHING AL-" He stopped himself. I stood there, still frozen with a grin on my face, staring at John who had a towel wrapped around his lower half and his mouth wide open.

"What happened?" Herc asked. I still stood there frozen, but I managed to choke out some words.

"He kissed me" I whispered.

Hercules burst out with excitement. "I KNEW IT! WHERE IS LAFAYETTE HE OWES ME FIFTEEN DOLLARS!" He ran over to me and hugged me, and then went to hug John. John said to him "Don't tell anyone yet, okay?" Herc nodded and turned back to me, a smile spread across his face. John then shut the bathroom door and took his shower.

"He fell into a turtle tank again didn't he? He smells like it" He chuckled. I nodded and just kept thinking about him kissing me.

Herc went back to his room and John took his shower. When he came out, I had the TV set up for us to watch TV together. We sat on the couch together watching a new show we had started watching called "Shameless". It was a very interesting show and its really funny.

I, as usual, fell asleep in John's arms. Waking up in his arms is the best feeling ever. Waking up and seeing his cute, little, freckled face and feeling his warm embrace makes my heart skip a beat. Every time I look at him I feel breathless. I think.. I think I'm falling in love with him.

This chapter is so shitty I'm sorry. I think I'm going to start uploading shorter chapters so I can update more often. Hopefully I will listen to myself and start writing more. This weekend I will try to write a bunch of stuff and have it ready to upload throughout the week. Thankyou guys for putting up with my bullshit story❤
