A New Day [Hamilton AU]

Chapter 2

*Alex POV*

I was sitting in the backseat of our car. My foster parents were driving me to campus. Its my first day and I'm extremely excited.

We finally arrived at the school at around 10:30am. I gave my 'parents' a big hug and said goodbye. I planned on calling them tonight after I got settled into my dorm.

I got my bags and started walking towards the entrance to the campus. I saw the Schuylers standing near the entrance, waiting for someone I'm guessing. I walked up to them to greet them.

"Hey guys!" I said, and then waved.

Peggy got up and hugged me "Alex! I'm so glad you're here. Here, Angie is gonna take you to your room and then if you want, she can show you around a little more"

Angelica stepped forward and motioned to take one of my bags. I gave her the duffle bag I was carrying, and we started to walk.

"So how was your summer?" she asked. "It was okay. I spent most of it at home with the family I'm with. We didn't do anything special really. What about you?" She giggled and then said "This summer was really fun for me. My sisters and I went to a lot of parties and they were really fun. We spent a lot of the summer with John and his friends, Hercules and Lafayette. They're really cool dudes." She looked at me and smiled.

"I'm glad you had fun with them" I said.
"Your room is in the Monmouth West dormatory, correct?" She asked

I pulled out a piece of paper that had my room information on it.

Alexander Hamilton
Monmouth West
Room 169

"Yeah. Room 169." I said as I put the paper back into my pocket and looked up. "Okay, your room is in the building just up here" she said as she looked at the building we were walking up to.

We walked inside and began our way to find the room. "167, 168.. Here we go! 169" she said, and then began to open the door. We walked inside, it was empty. I guess my roommate isn't here yet. I put my bags down next to one of the beds in the bedroom, and walked back out to the living room. It was a little small compared to what I was used to back home, but I still liked the room. There was a small kitchen in the corner. The bathroom was really nice and had little soaps. "Awe look at how cute these are" I said and walked out to show Angelica. She laughed and said "I know. They're my favorite part of the rooms. We only give them out for the first week though in case students forgot to bring some from home." I put the soap back in the bathroom and walked back out. "Would you like me to show you around the campus a little more?" Angelica said excitedly. "Um yeah. I don't really remember where anything was from the tour" I said shyly. We walked out of the dorm and just wandered around, Angelica telling me where things were and what buildings had what classes.

*John POV*

I got out of the cab and started to walk towards the school, looking for Peggy. She texted me saying that she wanted to meet up with me when I got to the school. I spotted her sitting with Eliza, talking to her. I walked up to them and they didn't notice I was getting closer. "..should make it canon already. Its been long enou- OH MY GOD JOHN!" Peggy stood up quickly and tackled me with a hug. Eliza just laughed and said "Hello John." I laughed too, "Hey guys." I looked around and said, "Where's Angie?" Eliza spoke up and said "She went to show Alex to his dorm and then to show him around a little more." I pictured Alex back when we were all at the cafe together before school started. "He enrolled?" I said, a little bit too excitingly. "Yeah, now let's go! We're gonna show you around a little bit and then take you to your room." Peggy said, grabbing my hand and dragging me along with her"

Alexander was here too. I'm really glad he decided to enroll. He seemed like a really cool guy, and he seemed to fit in with us perfectly.

Peggy and Eliza showed me around a little more and then we went back to my dorm. It was room 169 in the Monmouth West dorms. We walked into the room, and I noticed someone's stuff was already there. My room must've gotten here already. They're not here now, so maybe they went out for lunch.

I put my bag down on the other bed and walked around a little bit. "This room is really nice you guys." I said and then walked back to the living room. All of our phones dinged at the same time. It was a text from Angie to the group chat we were in.

I had Angie in my phone as "Avatar" since we called her "Ang" and that reminded me of the TV show.

Avatar: Come meet us at the cafe for lunch💜

Eliza replied to her

Lizzie: We're on our way

We left the dorms and started towards the cafe.

We walked in and saw Angie and Alex sitting together. We sat down with them, and then someone else walked in behind us. I turned around and it was Laf and Herc. They didn't notice it was us, so when they sat down at a different table, I snuck up to them and hugged Herc from behind. Laf was laughing and Herc yelled "WHAT THE HELL!!"
I laughed and went to stand in front of the table. "Yoooooo when did you guys get here?"

Herc realized it was me and yelled "JOHN!" and got up and hugged me. I invited them to come sit with us at our table. "Alex, this is Hercules Mulligan, and this is Marquis de Lafayette," I said as we sat down together.

We got lunch and talked for a few hours and then we all decided to walk around campus.
