A New Day [Hamilton AU]

Chapter 3

*Alex POV*
After we wandered the campus for a few hours, we all decided to head back to our rooms. The Schuyler's went back to their mansion, somewhere on campus. I'm not sure where it's located yet, but it sounds like a really nice house. John and I went with Hercules and Lafayette back to their dorm to see where it was, and to say goodnight. We walked into their dorm and they had already set up everything. Their clothes were in the closets and they had small decor around the room. They even had their shampoos and conditioners in separate spots in the bathroom. I was a little amazed at how fast they turned their dorm into their new home. I hadn't even unpacked anything. I bet my roommate is at the dorm thinking how weird I am for putting my stuff down and not returning for hours.

*John POV*
"I'm glad you guys got to be roommates. I don't know who my roommate is. Eliza and Peggy just brought me to the room quick and then we left to meet up with Alex and Angie for lunch." I said and looked around their dorm. They had a really nice dorm with two bedrooms and a very cute, medium sized kitchen. I wish I could cook and be able to use the kitchen in my dorm. I sure hope my roommate knows how to cook otherwise we'd be getting takeout every night.

"If you guys ever want to come over and just hang out here, you're welcome to come over whenever you want. Notre maison est votre maison." Laf said and then laughed. I looked at him and said "English please." Alex then turned around and said "It means 'our house is your house' in French." We all looked at him, a little puzzled, and I asked "You know French?" He chuckled and said "Oui." He smiled and then continued "I learned French when I was very young. I am fluent in the language." Herc walked over to Laf and put his arm around him, "Ayye this French fry has a buddy now," He teased. We all laughed and Laf blushed a little.

"Well, we should probably go back to our own dorms, it's getting late and we don't want to be late on our first day tomorrow." I said, giving a glance to Alex. "Uh yes. I still have to unpack my stuff and try to get it organized a tad bit." He said, glancing at the clock. "Goodnight Herc, goodnight Laf" I said and gave them a quick hug. "It was nice meeting you two!" Alex said and then we left.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow Alex, have a goodnight" I said. "Goodnight John," he replied. We both started to walk in the same direction, which was a bit awkward. "Oh I see your room is this way" I said looking down at the ground, and then looked at the number of the rooms. We both stopped in front of room 169 and started laughing. "We're roommates" Alex said, and then opened the door. We both walked inside and went to our stuff. I'm kind of glad he was my roommate and not some stranger. Our dorm only had one bedroom for some reason, which meant Alex and I had to share the room. He took the bed closer to the back of the room near the desk, and I took the one closer to the front of the room. We both unpacked some of our stuff. I went to the bathroom and got changed. I switched into my fuzzy turtle pajama pants and a gray sweatshirt. I walked back into the room and Alex stared at me. "What?" I asked, not realizing what I had put on. "I really like your pants" he said, giggling. I looked down and realized I was wearing my turtle pajamas. I looked back at him and said "shut up." I got into my bed, and Alex pulled out his laptop and started to type. He was typing for a long time, and the clacking sound of the keyboard sent me to sleep.

*Alex POV*
I'm so glad John was my roommate. I don't know him all that well, but at least I don't have to get to know another new person. I wonder if him and Peggy are a thing. They seem very close and like they've known each other for a while. I guess I'll find out soon enough if I'm now a part of their group.
I checked the time and it was pretty late, so I shut off my laptop, and set an alarm for 7:45. That would give me enough time to shower, grab something for breakfast, and get to class by 8:30. My first class was World Literature. I am so excited for this class.
