Amber stared out over the Emerald City, paper lanterns still burned, she sighed dreamily. Wasn’t every girls dream to live in a fantastic, save the prince from evil clutches, to then have him sweep you off your feet, and live happily ever after? She thought about Emma, and her parents. They couldn’t stay in the palace with her and she missed them already.

“Don’t worry dear,” said Chalet. “We will come see you tomorrow in the morning before your wedding.” Emma sobbed and sobbed.

“But-but I want to sleep with Amber,” big wet tears filled up her eyes and spilled over and down her cheeks. Amber tried her best not to cry with her.

“It’s not like we won’t ever see her again. We’ll come back tomorrow.”

Something dark caught her eye as it drifted into the sky, and then a flash of red consumed a building by the city gate.

“Fire,” Amber whispered. She took off running, she ran down the palace halls till she was at the princes room, she banged as loud as she could. “PRINCE CLOVIS! PRINCE CLOVIS! THE CITY!! ITS BURNING!!” he came opened the door and she didn’t even notice he only had boxers on.

“My City is what?!” he roared running to the end of the hall and stepping out on to the balcony above the entrance. He sucked in a breath of air, and when Amber caught up to him, she gasped. In the time it took to get the prince (which was only a few minutes) the buildings around the city walls were all on fire.

“YES! BURN! BUURRNN!!” Veronica laughed hysterically, “LET IT BURN! BURN TO THE GROUND! AND I WILL DANCE IN ITS ASHES” she had gone completely mad. Her face twisted in a horrific grin. She twirled and sang as people ran in a panic to the center of the city, “Emerald city is burning down, burning down, burning down, Emerald city is burning down, oh sweet vengeance.” She walked up the street and the fire seemed to follow right behind her. Her eyes were black holes as she stared strait a head. A man ran out to her and grabbed her shoulders shaking her hard.

“What are you doing!” he hallowed. “Have you gone mad? You will die with us!” her face distorted into a face of rage and she dug her fingers into his face. He screamed and dropped to his knees. She pushed her nails into his eye sockets. There was a faint popping noise as she watched blood flow down his face. His mouth open in a horrific scream of agony. She began to laugh hysterically again, and pushed him away from her, and continued to walk toward the palace still singing.

“Watch the flames burn so bright, burn so bright, burn so bright, watch the flames burn so bright, oh sweet vengeance.” She picked up a metal rode that was lying on the ground, and started swing it in her hand. “Emerald city will soon be ash, soon be ash, soon be ash, Emerald city will soon be ash, my sweet vengeance.” A woman ran past her and she swung the metal bar. It smashed into the woman’s cheek and she went down. She let out a painful moan. Veronica stood over her.

“Oh I am so sorry,” she laughed, “forgive me, I didn’t see you there.” She raised the bar over her head and brought it down. Blood and brain matter flew in every direction as she hit the woman, again and again. She hit her seven times before she was satisfied.

Amber was running, she heard Clovis call her but she ignored him, she had to find Emma and her family. She ran out the palace doors, and threw the gates, hundreds of people were swarming to get in and she pushed hard past them.

“Emma! Chalet! John!” she screamed as she made her way through the crowed, “its Amber! Where are you!! Emma! Emma!” soon there were less people and she ran to the center of town the fire was not far and she could feel its blazing heat. She squinted into the light of the fire, she spotted a small girl, still in her ball gown. Ambers heart sailed with joy. She’s ok! She’s ok!

“Emma! Emma!” she ran to the girl, and watched her sway.

“Amber…”she croaked.

“Emma I’m so glad you’re al-“ Amber froze, something was wrong. She was only a few feet away from Emma now; she could reach out and touch her. “Emma…”

“Why does it hurt…” Emma said turning around. Amber’s eyes widened in horror, and stared tears spilling over her eyes. Half of Emma’s face had been smashed in. it was a bloody mess of torn flesh, and her eye hung out of its socket. The whole front of her dress was drenched in her own blood.

“NOOO!” Amber held her face with her hand and screamed. Emma’s body swayed and started to fall back. Amber stopped screaming and ran to catch her, just before she fell.

“Why does it hurt, Amber?” she asked again, tears welled in her good eye. “WHY WHY WHY WHY!” she screamed hysterically “WHY! IT HURTS IT HURTS!!!” the girls body started to sized and her body shook out of control. Amber held her so she wouldn’t hurt herself. Her eye looked into Amber’s, accusingly and then they dulled and the life went out of her. Her eye stared emptily, and her body went limp in Amber’s arms. Amber laid her body on the ground and closed Emma’s her eye.

A crazy laugh exploded in front of her. She looked up and saw Veronica, holding something in her hand. Amber let out a petrified scream; Veronica was holding on to the heads of Chalet and John. Their faces forever trapped in the shape of a silent scream.

“I’m sorry I must have hit the girl a bit to light. I meant to take her out in one wake.”

“You BITCH!!” Amber screamed, she lunged at Veronica, but wasn’t quick enough and the metal pipe struck her on the side of her head. She yelped in pain, as she fell a few feet away. The world spun and her head throbbed, she reached to touch the wound and winced, warm blood flowing down her cheek and mixing with tears. Veronica burst into another hysterical fit of laughter, pointing at Amber.

“You think you can win against me? You think you can save the day? Don’t make me laugh, you can’t do anything at all.” She sneered down at her, “your just a little girl! If you would have minded your own business this never would have happened, they would still be alive if you hadn’t messed things up!” she screeched tossing the dismembered heads by Amber’s feet. Amber’s throat tightened and she knew what Veronica said was true. She was just a little girl, and Emma’s death, and the death of her parents was all her fault. “Repent for your sins,” Veronica raised the metal bar over her head, “And Die!” Amber closed her eyes waiting for the finishing blow.

“Ahhh!” there was a clank as the metal bar fell from Veronica’s hands. She looked down at her chest and saw a bloody blade protruding out. “No…” she whispered. Her eyes went wide with fear.

“My Dearest Veronica I am terribly sorry. I was aiming for your heart but it seems I missed by a few inches… lucky you.” Smirked the voice. The blade pulled out of her and she dropped to the stone street; warm blood pooling around her.

“You son of a bitch!” She breathed looking to see Emit looking down at her with no expression on his face. He calmly cleaned off his sword. She coughed and the metallic taste of blood filled her mouth. The world began to go into slow motion, and fade, and then Veronica was no more.

Amber had opened her eyes and was staring at the man in front of her; blonde hair that fell over one of his eyes, and his eyes the color purple, like a sick poison. He took a step, and she tried to crawl away, but he grabbed hold of her hair and hoisted her up. She screamed in pain. He leaned in close to her ear.

“I’ve been waiting forever to see you again since the red forest.” He whispered. “I am going to enjoy this.” He said, ripping the bloody clothes from her body, exposing her white skin underneath. He grinned at her naked top. Amber closed her eyes and screamed as he began to his her neck, slowly moving down her to her breasts. Suddenly they were both struck by something ice cold and wet.
