A defining shriek cut through the thick bass. Everyone in the shack looked over to four figures. One of the girls was screaming and hugging another girl in her arms. The taller guy was kneeling down next them both, and a younger guy was holding his head looking down in horror and shock.

“Kimmber,” Amber sobbed. “Kimmber please wake up,” Kimmber looked blankly at the ceiling. “Kimmber wake the fuck up!” She shouted.

“Amber,”

“Kimmber you better fucking wake up!”

“Amber!”

“What!” Amber screamed turning to glare into the dark, gold flaked eyes of Trent, “What the fuck do you want!” His eyes looked tired.

“Amber….She’s dead.” He sighed. Tears welled up as she looked into Trent’s eyes. She clenched her teeth and pulled Kimmber closer to her sobbing in her brow hair. Someone grabbed her from behind and yanked her to her feet. Her hands and arms lost grip of Kimmber and her body dropped to the floor with a thud.  She saw Trent step forward to grab the person who had just pulled her up.

Sparrow stepped in front of her and seemed to punch Trent in the stomach. She saw Trent’s face turn into an expression of shock. Sparrow pushed him back and she saw the knife in his hand. She looked back at Trent and saw the red stain that was spreading on his shirt.

Sparrow grabbed her hand and pulled her behind him. She was in such shock that she could fight back. She could only gauk at the back of him. After a couple blocks she the shock wore off and she screamed. Sparrow turned around to see if she was ok. Amber punched him as hard as she could in his gut. The wind was knocked out of his lungs and he dropped to the ground, holding his abdomen, and gasping. Amber took off running. She didn’t look back, she just sprinted.

Her feet hurt but she barely noticed. All she did was run. She ran and ran until she tripped over something and feel onto the assault. There she lay for a moment, not wanting to get up. She sobbed into the ground and pulled herself to a pile of garbage which she rested her head on and let the tears pore.

“Why God,” she whispered. Her whole body was numb. “Why?”

She slowly reached into her pocket and pulled out the pill of SAND.

“Don’t let me wake up,” she whispered to it. She put it in her mouth and swallowed.

She watched as the dark street fell way as see fell through the earth. She let the feeling of falling wash over her. objects started to pass her again. She was picking up speed. She didn’t care. She just wanted to get out of reality.
