"Skye. I hear something. Wake up," Jeremy says, barely able to keep his voice a whisper. He is frantic.
Skye opens her eyes which were suddenly fearful, "Could it be Pixies?" She asks quietly.
"I'm not sure. If it is, I never knew pixies were that loud. I always thought they were-ya know- sneaky..." Jeremy frowns.
"We shouldn't be able to hear them then!" Skye is suddenly panicked. Lots of monsters hide in the woods at night. But it isn't night. The sunrise was just to her left.
"No. We shouldn't," Jeremy pauses before adding, "and I doubt they are monsters. I would've heard crackling but no such noise."
A small sound leaves Skye's throat, "there isn't anything else then." And it is true. In Faerie Realm, it only consists of Monsters, Pixies or Faeries and Skye doubts a Faerie would follow them this far.
They sit in silence listening to the eerie sound of the wind blowing past their alert ears. A twig snaps on their left and Skye jumps, afraid. Then something emerges from the forest door.
A human.
Skye watches in awe as the male boy flips his black hair, and turns to gaze at the two with wide green eyes. She sees horror cross over his face and waits for death.
"Who are you?" The boy asks with a small twinge of an Irish accent. He doesn't seem mad, just mildly confused. "I mean, I have never seen you before."
Jeremy looks at Skye, signaling to just play along, "You wouldn't know us. We...are new to this area. Just hiking around." He pauses and looks around, "where exactly are we?"
The boy narrows his eyes, timidly, "You are in London."
Skye tilts her head, "Where could that be? I am horrible with my Geography," she adds as the boys eyes widen.
"England." He snaps, hands on his hips and pursing his lips, "What kind of people are you? Did you get Drunk?"
Jeremy is flabbergasted, "What is Drunk?"
"You know nothing do you!" The boy's accent intensifies.
"Maybe we do, maybe not," Skye shrugs.
At this he laughs, "You are funny," reaching out an outstretched palm, he adds, "my name is James."
"I'm Skye and this is my Best Friend Jeremy!" She says smiling and taking his hand.
James laughs at Jeremy's horrified expression. He doesn't seem to notice they have wings. "Friend Zoning you huh? I know how that feels,"
Jeremy's nose twitches. He doesn't think this kid knows how it feels to spend many millennia loving someone like that. "I wouldn't think you would. Being all handsome like that," he snorts.
Skye hits him, momentarily ripping her eyes from James. "Sh!" She whispers, forcefully.
James smiles looking at Skye, making Jeremy want to rip his heart out (though that is impossible. No humans have real hearts) "I believe you do not have a room to stay in?"
Jeremy hates to admit it, "no...we don't. Our... Parents left us for dead," he spits to the ground and his wings flutter, unnoticed.
"Come. You can stay with me until you find a suitable home."
