Trigger Warning
"Oh my god, Lou!" Phil exclaimed.
Were at a pretzel shop in the middle of the mall's food court, just me, Laney, Louise, and Phil.
We are supposed to be shopping for a gift for Penny's birthday, since her party is this upcoming Friday.
Phil and I had hung out twice since my first group get together, and it was really just at his house where Penny would inevitably come hang out with us an hour in.
"I didn't know it would be this big!" Louise shouted, carrying her very oversized pretzel to four person table. "You guys are sharing this with me!"
We decided that yeah, all four of us could probably share that, so we abandoned the line to sit with her.
Thank god it was Sunday.
"Okay, but we actually need to find Penny some decent gifts. She's always so good with us, and I would feel bad if we did the same as last year." Laney said, tearing a piece of pretzel off, and passed.
"What happened last year?" I asked, accepting the pretzel, and repeating Laney's actions.
"Oh god." Louise said, and Phil rolled his eyes.
"Okay, it was really all my fault, but I had no idea she would react that way." Phil said, sighing. He passed the pretzel back to Louise.
"Okay? Continue." I urged him on, laughing a bit. They all shook their heads, chuckling a little.
"It was supposed to just be a joke, but last year, on her birthday, it was her time of the month and I said we should all get her pads and tampons. Just as a joke." Phil said, laughing a bit.
"The thought was funny, so we did it. I can't believe I agreed to do it knowing how girls react." Louise said, trying to contain her laughs.
"Oh my god."
"And when we gave them to her, she was so pissed that she didn't even want to hang out with us. She just, well, left the party and locked us out of her room. Like I said, completely my fault, but it was fucking hilarious at the time." Phil continued, pushing some hair out of his face. "And we all just went to bed after that, just in the basement. And when we woke up, everyone had like, tampons shoved up their noses, and some of he guys had pads in their underwear, girls in their bras. It was great."
"I was not great. We really hurt her, and we all ended up buying her anything she wanted from anywhere as an apology. Good job that there is a lot of us, or else we would have to have payed a shit ton of money." Laney finished. "But she forgave us, and said that yeah, it was a little funny afterwards, but we broke her heart."
"You guys are horrible people." I shook my head, laughing a bit, taking another piece of pretzel, as it was the first thing I had eaten today.
I usually saved my appetite for evenings on days that I eat, but I was with friends, so I made an exception.
"The problem is though, is that I have no idea what to get her this year, like I didn't know last year." Phil said, getting up to throw away napkins. "And she gave me that really awesome shirt and mug for my birthday, even though it was a little late."
